I dont know what planet you were on yesterday. But I was at the field from 8 am till 1.30pm and we had nothing more that a light zepher all day.
Flying conditions were almost perfect, apart from the fact that the field looks like a lucern paddock. Needs a mow really badly but the western end of the strip is still to wet to mow, apart from that about 15 to 20 members turned out yesterday.
Everyone had a great day except for Paul J. who at the end of the day had a control failure just after take off and destroyed one of his jets.

So I won't be there Sunday. I hope the weather is nice for you guys.

Sorry to hear the news, thoughts are with you

Steve

Simon you missed Darren's Big Blowing Machine Icon_twisted
Guys, thank you all for your kind words. My dad is being as stubborn as Mum was 3 years ago.
The Doctors are saying "a matter of days," but knowing Dad....... Smile

Anyway, I'm back in town and if he hangs on longer, I hope to be flying on Sat or Sun this week.

Cheers & thanks again.
Andrew
Gary,
I live in Lane Cove and it was a bit blowy! Obviously the wind died down a bit the further west you went!Dang it, missed out then. Hopefully this weekend we will get good weather....haven;t flown for ages now :-(

Was Thinking of and morning Flight Tommorow though they say the weather is to change to bad towards midday.

Will see what the weather is like in the morning

Steve Smile
I intend on flying early tomorrow as the weather does look as though it will get bad by mid afternoon, so the earlier the better.
Se you all then.

Chris M
Looks like the weather gods have been kind overnight.
Hell I haven't got time to sit here and type I'm going flying.
See you there
Gazz
if anyone is interested kevin and myself are heading down to try and get a couple of flights in now, probably be there for 2hrs or so..
Got a couple of hours in.
Darren did great job mowing field looks very good pity about the bike marks that are
still there but hopefully they will fade away.
Kev and I only took a couple of planes down tonight just in case weather is lousy tomorrow.
It was strange having the place to ourselves not even any people walking dogs etc.
Hope to see you all tomorrow
The weekend beckons and weather permitting I will be at the field from 8 am. See you all there.
PS Sunday is looking a little ordinary.

I'm stuck with gig's again this weekend, in fact we're launching my Wife's 5th album. Will be away next weekend at the instructors course as well.
You're right Gazz - Willy says an 85% chance of 5+ mm of rain on Sunday Frown
At least tomorrow looks alright in the morning before the wind gets up!
I'm hoping to be down on Sunday but weather doesn't
look too great.
Maybe see you then
Yeah not looking too good for tomorrow. Frown
But this means that Dad and I get building time Smile

Hmm - the weather forecast looks interesting: It's now suggesting that there will only be a very small amount of rain and hardly any wind - might be good enough for an hour or two after all.
Don't tell me that someone else has done what I did and landed on the tower?
Thought that record was mine and would never be broken. Smile
just for the record.... no i'm not climbing the tower again.. Smile
Woke up this morning feeling like you know what..
Head cold and aches all over so no flying for me today.
If I feel a bit better later I might get back to building
the bandit.
Sorry to hear that Paul - have a wee dram, it will make you feel better and it certainly can't hurt Smile

It turned out to be reasonably good this morning - Owen and I got there late, at about 9:30am and conditions were excellent: No wind at all, and I really mean none - and an overcast sky with no glare. It didn't last though, we did get a few spits of rain after a while and then a breeze set in.

Hope you're on the mend, and see you and Kev next week!

It was a nice morning this morning, a bit humid and sticky but the air was still enough, a bit of a bad sky gray with little contrast.

Managed to get a few flights in which was fun before the call of domestic duties required an urgent retreat

jason

Yep will definitely be down next weekend for a remaiden of our f16 and I'm hanging for a fly , I'm not sure but I may or may not have a chopper to try as well , depending on post , glad you got some flights in steve hope to see you and Owen next Sunday Smile
Thanks for your kind thoughts Steve.
Still feel like s..t, great idea about wee dramSmile
Thought I would get some work done on bandit today but even that proved beyond me.
Lasted all of 5 minutes.Frown
Not sure of the Field Condition or weather for a Fly Tommorow, But It would be Nice To have a Fly.
Will see what the weather will bring In The morning.

Looks like Sunday for Junior and I - the best option appears to be Sunday morning, as long as there isn't too much water on the ground.
Cheers,
SteveM
sunday morning for our father son team also Smile
I think the weather during the week has probably given the strip a bit of a soaking (particulary last night).
I have to work tomorrow morning. Had a fuel system failure on one of my boats which will take a few hours to sort out, so I wont be flying until late even if the sky is friendly.
It looks like a Sunday only flying for me this weekend.
Would be nice to get the Roulettes up again sunday Kev. Im hangin for some formation flying work
Hope the weather is good.

I walked in this arvo to do a quick test flight. The driveway and pit area are fine but the majority of the runway is waterlogged. If the rain stays away, it should be good for Sunday but any more rain and I think we'll be waiting a few weeks again for it to fully dry.

I have to say the Phoenix EP Classic looked awesome kicking up twin rooster tails as it took off and landed!

I'm away at the instructors course this weekend. Hopefully catch up with you all next weekend.

Kieran,
Great to hear that you have made good use of the Phoenix.
Did you modify her, flaps & larger ailerons?
Also what motor, battery, prop combo did you go for?

Good luck at the instructors course.

Cheers
Chris
