Hey Ingo,

7:30 is pretty keen Smile any bits for me? I'l be there around 9ish, earlier if I can motivate myself.
Only got 1 flight in last week, hope to get a whole lot more this weekend.
Sunday will be my flying day this weekend.
I will be calling into the field tomorrow about 10:30am but only
to pickup some parts for kev.
Hope wind has died down by tomorrow morning

Paul
hey guys i wont be down saturday either but im hanging to hit the field sunday to get back in the air..

got a new motor for the skyfun and gonna run the habu up on 5S to bump her up from 750 to 1200 watts.. cant wait to get down there.. see ya all from 8:30ish sunday Biggrin
Hi Arron,

There are some parts for you
Gday,

I'm planning on coming down today (Sat) about 11:30 to meet some of you and (if I'm allowed) to have a fly of my Heli.
Thanks

Andrew
Gday All

I have a question, I have installed one of my new 2.4g receivers in the uber cub pursuant to taking her for a fly today however have come across an interesting issue. One of the aileron servos (JR NES537) now chatters it's nuts off and I can cycle it away madly with the chatter constant. I find this odd as the servos have barely been used and have previously worked perfectly on both 36mhz and my prev 2.4 g receiver.
The servo chatters even when completely disconnected from the control rod. All the other servos which are the same type are super smooth as they always have been. The 537 is not a digital.

What the hell is going on here?

Cheers
Rob Byrnes
Things that can cause a chattering servo:
-Flight pack voltage either high or low
-EMR on the Servo wire, recheck/reroute the connections.
-Try another channel on the RX, see if it does it on the old RX
-Goblins have sabotaged your servo (I saw it happen to 2 of Darren's expensive Hitec servos in his F15)
-Channel on Tx set to chatter mode?
Gday Kieran

Thanks for the advice, I had retested and swapped out the servos and retested with my 36mhz receiver.
The issue became highly intermittent/ random on both 36meg and 2.4
Remedy, 2 new servos now in the cub, old servo binned.
Odd stuff.

Cheers
Rob Byrnes
Heartbreaking but ultimately a good move!

Could'a Should'a Would'a is unpleasant!

You missed out today man! Siren was behaving strangely & climbing under full power, thought it was odd but put it down to the hasty radio changeover then all of a sudden I got a beautiful smoke trail, Thinking the motor had finally bbq'd itself I initiated a emergency landing. It seems the firewall/motor mount finally gave up, I have a suspicion that yesterdays 'hot' landing was a bit too stressful.

Need to learn how to do 'glass work now!
Gday Kieran

Not really heartbreaking as I have heaps of servos of that size so no big loss. Still want to know what the issue was though so have kept the servo and will pull it apart at a later date.
I will have a yak to you about the east west landing as I feel that there is heaps more leeway from that direction, I was really surprised you took a tailwind landing on saturday from west to east thus came in "hot". Having said that I am surprised the mount was damaged, it was still a smooth albeit fast landing.
At least you got her home ok.

I was a bit grumpy I did not get to fly today however as I was working on my builds I had fun watching the flying from my back verandah, I can see plenty of action from that position and I can say it all looks cool as!

Cheers
Rob B
Its more the devil you know, I know I can make an approach from out there and pretty much nail it every time. I've managed east west landings before but not without spoilers and a STIFF headwind. The required approach angles all involve too much nose down, even if I take the bent approach up from the stormwater drain its just too slippery. I was on the backfoot both yesterday and today being stuck with a compromised radio setup, only got myself to blame there.

I take positives from this, I'll learn to fix the damage and beef up the nose and then improve the cooling properly by cutting some proper intakes in, I've decided to give the SK version of the same motor a go.
Hi Guys,
I'm only flying on Sunday this W/E and given the gate situation (vandalism of a few weeks back) I can no longer provide access to the field.
Happy Flying
Chris

Andrew.
G'day,

The field is too waterlogged for cars at the moment so the gate will be shut on Saturday, Members are still allowed to use the field at their own discretion but must hike in!

I wont be down on Saturday at all but am watching the weather for Sunday. It'll probably be dry but windy. Fingers crossed though
Gday All

Gday All

We had a massive amount of rain at Toonie last night, likely the field will be rather swampy come the weekend.
Does anyone have a set of floats to suit a 2m span Cub?
Cheers

P.s Just Don't Tell my Wife
Rain Rain Go Away....

Its obvious that we wont be flying much this weekend, but if it does clear up I wont be around anyway, Going away for my sisters 21st!
G'day All,
I went down to the field this morning to check things out and have a quick fly.
The condition of ths the strip is fairly average, the ground is not at all firm, but on the postive side there are no puddles or standing water. If anyone was thinking of flying a larger balsa plane which requires a resonable length of strip to land perhaps you may need to have a rethink, as it will just dig in on touch down and nose over. Foamies should be fine.
As far as driving in goes as long as everyone keeps relatively close to the tree line it should be OK, but please be careful about it.
At this stage I intend to fly Sunday morning provided the weather permits.

Cheers
Chris M
I shall try to come down Sunday morning weather permitting.

Hope to see you there.

All the best,

Ingo
Kev and I are planning on being there Sunday morning too.
looks like it will be ok weather wise although cold.

Paul
I wont make it down Sat or Sunday. Plan to go down Monday morning. Will just walk in with my Foamie if the gate is locked.
Hi All
I Will Be Going Tomorrow Weather permits

Is Any One Else Going.

See You All There

Con
Not flying on Monday! (Today)

Too much misery from the game, afraid I'll crash some more planes in sympathy!
Will be down to the field around 8:30 this morning for a couple of hours.
Will walk in with a couple of planes if gates remain locked.
Outside thermometer reading 5 degrees (here at northmead), so not keen on the cold
but what can you do?
Heading Down Field for a 1500 + Watts of Jetiger Experience.
