Hi All,
I'm looking for some opinions on what might be going on here. My "You Beaut Dinky Di Super Cheapo Car Keys" video camera has been making some odd wavey patterns and I've been trying to work out the problem.

Initially there were suggestions that the camera may be having problems tracking the fast moving frame rates or maybe it was faulty but after some experiments I'm beginning to think that the problem may be with my trojan....

Firstly, I noticed in the following video that the image was rock steady up until I started the prop when it started to get wavey:

Also, Steve was kind enough to let me stick the camera on the nose of this Thunder Tiger for a really brief curcuit. As you can see the video seems to be pretty rock solid.

So i'm starting to think that the problem may be with my plane, maybe an electrical interfearence from the Trojans electronics or something, then I see the video that I took from my flight today:

The camera was mounted on the wing, facing rearward and this time there is no waveyness until all during the initial prop spin up. It only seemed to start when I opened it up for take off. I would have thought that if it was electrical, it would have happened when the motor was spinning.

I'm thinking that it is something about the plane that the camera doesn't like but I'll be buggered if I know what that might be. If I can work out what it might be then I can have a chance at fixing it hopefully so i'm looking for any ideas as to what I can try.

Mick

Hi guys,

i have just joined to forum, and i am looking at joining the club. I have been flying nitro planes for close to 10 years, and i am looking to get a bit more into electric planes. Shock Biggrin

I poped down to the field this morning to check it out, but unfortunuatly no one was there.

I just have a few questions regarding how the club works, and becoming a memeber
1) I am currently already a MAAA memeber, hence can i just pay the $5 visitor fee each time i fly?
2) Is there a keyboard for 36mhz? i didn't see anything while i was there today.
3) Do all members get a key to unlock the gate to drive in?
4) do u have issues of non-memebrs using the same area for flying? (just thinking in terms of freq control)

sorry for all the questions, but i am keen to get into some flying!!! 8-)

Thanks guys

I'm new to the area and need to get my hands on some construction foam, does anyone know the name of a few shops that might have some?

Cheers,

Tom

As I am a builder at heart, I thought I'd start a new topic for discussion of your latest designs, experiments and scratch builds.
This is not athread for discussing mods to ARFs or overclocking your funjet but for new designs or inovative builds with interesting materials or designs from first principles using traditional techniques.

Hi Guys,

New Gunfighter is all ready for maiden flight tomorrow.
Just have a quick question re "wing skids".
I bought some in the last HC order I want to put onto Gunfighter to protect
aileron servos and linkages.
Do I put them right next to each linkage? or is there a better place?
Logic tells me to put next to the linkages but don't want to glue them in and find out later
that they are in the wrong place.
thanks

Paul

Hi All,
Went to convert all my batteries and plane to use Deans connectors but have run into a small problem. My little dinky di Dick Smith Solder Iron isn't up to the challenge of heating up the larger wires on the batteries. The tiny wires on the charge plug are ok but not the main big beefy wires.

Does anyone have a decent Soldering Iron that will do the job that I could borrow or maybe someone volunteer to do it for me? Biggrin

Thanks
Mick
