Hi Scott,
I understand from your grandfather that you are looking at converting an IC engine trainer that is about 40 size to electric power.
My Phoenix Classic EP trainer uses a 45 amp ESC with a Himark 3526 830kV motor on a 3S 3200mAh battery spinning a 11 X 8.5 APC propeller.
The flying weight of this model is about 2.0kg and wingspan of 1420mm.

My suggested equivalent setup from HobbyKing would be:
ESC - Turnigy Plush 60 Amp
Motor - Turnigy 35-48-C 800kV Brushless Outrunner
Battery - 3S 3000mAh to 4000mAh 25C minimum (when used as a trainer) or 4S 3000mAh to 4000mAh 30C (when thinking of sport flying)
Prop - APC 11 x 8.5 or 11 x 7 (trainer, ie. 3S battery) or 10 x 7 (sport, ie. 4S battery)

I hope this helps you with your decision of what to fit into your new plane.

Cheers
Chris M

Steve, you may have seen in my F14 thread that I'm thinking
of converting it from a pusher prop to twin ducted fans.
I would be limited in what I can put in there to at best 55mm fans.
Think this is what you had in your A10 isn't it?
How did you find them? Did they have enough power for the A10?
Looking at GWS 55 Ducted Fans and KB20-40-12 Brushless Inrunners (4800Kv)
from Hobby King do you have any knowledge of them?
Any comments from anyone else would be greatly appreciated also as I don't
know much about EDF's.
Also Steve, what size batteries did you use with the A10 and did you use 2 batteries per flight?

Hi folks,
During my little holiday last week I took some video
footage using my HDVideo Camera. Same one that I used at Parramatta
Park on Australia Day.
Once again I ended up with just the first 3 or 4 short videos watchable and
the rest won't playback in either the camera or computer.
I'm wondering if it's the memory card I'm using. I'm using a 4Gb SD card as that's what
the instructions said to use.
I would like to try a SDHC card to see if this is the problem.
Does anyone have a spare card that they could loan me at the weekend just to try and
get more than 3 or 4 short videos watchable?
If I take say 6 or 7 short videos on the day and they all work then I would think I have
found the problem and then go and buy myself a new card.
thanks

Paul
