just wondering if any of you guys have expereince with float planes at all? I'm considering the Great Planes Catalina , would also be my first twin.

Might be a novel idea to try a float plane when the field next turns into a lake!
Cheers,
Simon
I thought I would Start a Mini Swift Thread As I think They may catch On as a little Racer

Heres Mine Fluorescent Pink Stock Standard, Did a little foam cutting to fit snug lipo in slot and re-routed servo leads to top hole out of way of lipo.
Here's the latest guys. will be flying at the Strathfeild Indoor this Thursday.
Its so cold outside !
Its great flying weather but the LIPo's are not working good in it.
I re wired the ar6300 direct to 2s last night to stop the brown outs , had a night fly in the back yard and it works. The problems started with the cold weather so I now think that the 6a ESC only just does its job.
Already thinking about making the next one even lighter.
I need to get a Job!

Kev's T28 has recovered from it's mid-air incident and is ready to take on Steve again..
My L39 has recovered after it's brush with the wind sock.
Chris please do me a favour and move the windsock into the flight area
instead of next to runway...that way I can get the guys to stop my planes
before they hit it.
Paul
hey all just wondering if anyone has a spare 3mm prop adapter they want to sell ...
with the delay from HK ATM and the fact that i can find a 3mm prop adapter in LHS im stuck with an unflyable new little plane.. (ps thanks john for my new bird.. converted to brushless and belly lander and ready to go )
Hi guys well I've finally finished the installation
of the tailerons on my F16.
You all know the one I mean, The one that crashed every flight because
of slop in the tailerons(elevators).
I've installed each side on to it's own servo and the whole assemble is now much more stable.
Need some suggestions on how to set up the mix on the dx6i transmitter.
Here's how it is at the moment.
Ailerons are controled by a single servo plugged into aileron input on Rx.
They work fine and always have.
Right taileron/elevon(whatever you want to call it) servo is plugged into elevator input on Rx.
Left taileron/elevon servo is plugged into gear input on Rx.
No servo reverser or Y cable needed.
Mix 1 on Tx is set up as elev -) gear ACT
second line reads Rate D +100% U +100%
third line reads SW ON Trim ACT
Have not set Wing Tail Mix to anything.
Now here is what's happening,
When I pull back on elevator stick both elevators come back.
When I push forward on elevator stick only the side connected to elevator input goes full forward, the gear imput side only moves about half way.
I've played with things like servo travel adjustment, endpoints etc but can't get it to go any further forward.
Also, gear switch has to be always on for the gear side elevator to move in correct direction, if I switch the gear switch off the elevator connected to the gear imput snaps to the full up position.
Tried reading up on this on the web but all seem to talk about mixing with ailerons and the elevators doing a dual role.
I'm only wanting them to act as elevators.
If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears....
thanks
Paul
Forget it,.....................It's working.
Found a article on the net that told me the secret.
I had to create another mix on the Tx
Mix 2 Gear -) Gear Act
Rate U -100% D -100%
This has the effect of cancelling out the gear switch and also allows the gear servo
full travel in both directions.
I now have the Tailerons working as I want them.
Paul
