Just as with the other one, I've got one of these brand new in box and I'm never going to get to build it. RRP is $130+ but it's yours for $80 if you wish. It's expensive compared to a HK model, but I prefer knowing that it's a Hacker and all the engineering has been done properly!

If you haven't got a motor+ESC or servos for something like this, then let me know because we can work out a deal for including those too.

Let me know if you're interested in this, because I'm going to post it on RCTrader as well and I'll let it go to whomever gets in first.

More information available here ...

This is it the decider!! the last race day of the 2014 series

All that aside, Marulin is a seriously good weekend away!!

Grab a RareBear, an Invictus, or anything that's fast and bring it allong for a day of racing on Sunday. Bring all on your sports or FPV gear for fun flying on Friday & Satturday, Bring your indoor flying machines too, they usually get a good run under lights in the big shed when it's too dark to fly outside

November 21, 22 & 23 mark it your diary order a RareBear, beg borrow or rebuild one, then bring it allong and fly it like you stole it !!

Post up if you keen for some practice, It's daylight saving now so Wednesday afternoons at McCoy field are looking good!!

See you there !!

Gday All

This will be a bit "off topic" however seeing as we spend a heap of time looking up into the sky whilst RC flying I am wondering if we have any club members who look a bit further afar, a truckload further actually?

After a very long hiatus I rekindled my love of Astronomy and purchased an Orion Starblast 6 Dobsonian telescope. Not a bad piece of kit for not much $$.
Do we have any other club members who are either amateur astronomers or would like to experience observing the heavens above?

I'd love to respectively, learn more, or, share with members the quite wonderful feeling one gets when observing our solar system, star clusters etc etc.
I will never cease to feel humbled and in awe every time I peer through the eyepiece at the magnificent universe we are part of.

Cheers
Rob B

The missus is finally sick of our lounge room being a hangar, so I'm now about halfway through building my mancave/rc workshop/shed in the backyard due to a lack of space in the living room and I'm planning to have it wired up. So I was thinking about how to handle battery charging in there. The shed is a standard steel job, and the floor is a timber deck built by yours truly. The hard part with the project is putting the foil insulation on the shed walls, as the standard shed doesn't come with an allowance for sarking.

I was thinking of building something for charging the batteries out of bricks, as I have plenty of spares. Just a few bricks mortared together in a standard pattern with a brick base. Resembling something like a pillar, and the batteries go in the middle whilst charging. And a smoke alarm on the ceiling. Lid I'm not sure about - maybe a piece of sheet metal or flashing curled over the edges to contain things in case something bad happens.

What do you guys use in your workshops?

The not to be missed Marulan I is one race day is coming up weekend after next.
If you only went to one event you’d go to this one!!

Racing on the Sunday, Practice on the Saturday and Fun fly on Friday. What a Sensational weekend it's going to be!!

For those that haven’t been it's not that far, just on the Sydney side of Goulbourn. It's a fantastic place to fly there's a 300m long paved strip and it's on the top of a hill. There are no noise restrictions and there's accommodation on site.

New commers are allways welcome bring along anything and race it !!

See you there !!

My wife bought me a half hour flight in a Tiger Moth which I did last weekend. Had hands on flying for about 20-25 mins, such a beautiful bird to fly. I highly recommend this Company. Here are a few pics.
