Just purchased this plane and paid $680AUD inc some spares .for it delivered from china . have the RECIEPT FOR IT , BUT ON THE RECEIPT , there is no item description. there website says i have no purchase history , and the items are still in the shopping cart as unpaid .
i'm kind of spewing at the moment as i bought from them and went through the checkout procedure . it took my money and printed out a confirmation receipt , with no items in it , and didnt confirm the sale on the website .
the company is RC CASTLE . ( IN CHINA) anyone dealt with them before ?
here is the plane by the way . i did use paypal , with the pay after delivery option ( 21 days) so i guess i've safe guarded myself a little .
during the checkout process red writing appeared saying , please press the send back to merchant button , so we can process the order , i tried to look for this button , but it wasnt there , perhaps this is what has happened i emialed them and at this point havent had a reply but it isnt even 9am ther yet .

IF I DO GET THE PLANE , SHE WILL BE A BEAUTY . ITS THE LATEST VERSION 8S BATTERIES ARE 50 BUCKS EACH AT THE MOMENT ON SPECIAL SO THATS OVER $800 IN THE AIR FOR A PHAOMY WITH RX FITTED .
my misses rang me within 5 minutes of the purchase to say good morning and wish me a nice day , she sounded a little flat on the phone . paypal purchases go direct to her email straight to her phone . must be just a coincidence that she rang straight away .( OWNED)Lol

reluctant sale . time to clear a little space in the garage . i paid about $320 for this delivered from china to my door . i think they are now dearer delivered . they are up to version 8 , i had a look and couldnt see any differences over the 7.5 however the V6 is no comparison to the v7 and 7.5 . main differences being metal retracts , 540kv motor over the 500kv , and opening canopy . reluctant sale as i'm buying a viper jet for over $500 , and later i will buy a newer version p51 for around the $400 mark .
this P51 was assembled and put together by me , and i can say i havent found any flaws with it . i have reglued the retracts though as they werent glued in properly at factory . i fly it on 5s , it does not over feed the motor i checked it with a watt metre . it is designed for 4s , and i find it better suited to 5s . although take your pick .
it has never been smashed or repaired . the fuel tanks are removable if you like , it has flaps that work very well on landing , set for 1/2 and full , full flaps has an extremely low stall speed and you can idle over the runway . it is very nice in the air and with practice you can fly scale above the horizon .
$250 i may consider offers if it isnt snapped up 1st includes 1 battery. 5s 3000mah.
never sold a plane before . and i tell you what i will miss it .IT'S ridge runner theme.
I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE MY MIND AND BACK OUT . LOL

PLANE IS NOW SOLD

G'day All

Please be advised that due to the current circumstances of Robair Airlines a major restructure is required.
The Robair Sale Act is creating a very uneven playing field in my garage and precluding foreign investment for more hangar space.
As such a fleet rationalisation is required.

This is just a heads up at this point as I need to clean things up and check airworthiness, this is going to take a couple of weekends. I also need to check batteries as they, like my aircraft have remained dormant for a long time.

Here's what will be up for grabs at stupidly low prices;

HK Sniper EP
Thunder Tiger J3 Cub 2m
Thunder Tiger Soaring Star 2m
HK Pitts Special EPO 1.6m unassembled
Sopwith Camel
Supermarine Spitfire
Hobbico Twinstar
HK500 TT heli
Super Sniper 90mm EDF
Alphajet EDF

Note that most aircraft will be airframes only therefore very cheap. This will be dependant on the condition of batteries, servos etc. Some are unassembled or need work. I'm not doing this to make $, merely to reclaim space and focus on a major project.

I will chuck up photos and more detailed specs in the near future.
I appreciate that this methodology is a bit unusual however I wanted to get this out there and give you all a bit of time to digest and think about what's on offer.

Cheers
Rob B

Sad to read this today. From the daily mail in the UK

Teenager is killed after she is hit by model plane
A schoolgirl was killed after being hit by a model plane as she walked with her mother and sister.
Tara Lipscombe was struck on the head by the remote-controlled aircraft with a 5ft wing span and knocked unconscious in what was described as a 'million-to-one' chance.
The 13-year-old grammar school pupil was taken to hospital by air ambulance but died three hours later.
The Acrowot plane, which has a top speed of 50mph, was being flown by a 55-year-old man when it flew out of control.
Tara had been enjoying the Easter holidays on Dartford Heath, Kent, close to her home with a walk with her mother Jane, 46, and ten-year-old sister, Rachelle.
Kent Police said the tragedy was 'a very tragic accident'. A spokesman added: 'The man flying the plane is understandably in shock. He was absolutely devastated and fully co-operative.
'He was not arrested and although we are continuing to investigate the incident, it appears to be a tragic and freak accident. The man is now at home in London.'
According to a police source, the man had been trying to land the plane and was at a loss to explain Tuesday's accident.
Police have confiscated the Acrowot and it will be examined by experts.
Dartford Heath is owned by the local council and is popular with model plane fliers, who were given a designated area in 1997.
'We could all hear the plane but there are always planes about,' said an eye-witness, who asked not to be named.
'Then we saw it coming over the tree and it started to go "pop pop pop" and spluttered.
'It did a 360 degree roll, nose dived and smashed into the girl. Her mum just screamed and ran towards her.'
A model flying enthusiast who arrived at the scene shortly after the accident at 5pm described what happened as a 'million-to- one' chance.
John Lee, 53, said: 'I have been flying model aircraft for 40 years and as soon as I saw the ambulance, I thought "I hope it's not an accident involving a plane".
'I saw a man in his 50s coming towards me and asked him if he knew what was happening and he said: "My aircraft has just hit a little girl".
'He was holding his armpit and saying "I've got a bad heart".
'I thought he going to have a heart attack and tried to calm him down.
'He said a friend had been flying it. Just then another man appeared and he was obviously in shock.' Mr Lee added that the self-assembly-kit plane has been in production for around 15 years and, with a remote control unit, costs around £500.
The propeller can turn at 17,000 revolutions per minute.
Geoff Wallace, of the Bickley Model Flying Club, said:
'Dartford Heath can get very busy in the air, particularly at weekends.
'It is very rare for a plane to go out of control.
'Model fliers have a frequency assigned to them to avoid things like interference from mobile phone masts. This is a tragedy.'
Tara's family, including her father Graham, 50, were said by neighbours to be distraught.
They were being comforted at the home of Mrs Lipscombe's parents in Bexley, Kent.
Throughout yesterday, friends and well-wishers gathered outside the family's semi-detached home in Dartford, where a pile of sympathy cards could be seen in the porch.
Some friends also visited the scene of the accident to lay flowers.
Struggling to hold back tears, one said: 'I can't believe she is dead. It is so wrong.
'She was so lovely and gorgeous and popular. I can't think about it. I will always remember her no matter what.'
A neighbour said: 'It is just too terrible to talk about. She has been snatched from us and her family. They are a lovely family and do not deserve this, nobody does. It is just such a shock.'
A spokesman for the North Kent coroner said a post-mortem examination will be held.

I recently acquired a Turnigy 9xr with OrangeRX module to replace my Spektrum DX6i. To say there is a learning curve would be an understatement.

I flashed it with the latest version of ER9x but found that I was unable to flash the EPROM - which sort of negates the benefits of it in the first place, because it meant I would be unable to setup the transmitter from my PC. So I ended up going with OpenTX. Whilst this is not the most intuitive system around (It appears to have been developed by Linux developers - ie. very little thought to usability), it is extremely powerful and with some help from YouTube, it does everything I want and more. I used the following videos from "Everything CPO" to get me started with it, which saved hours and hours of mucking around:

Anyway just thought I'd post that in case anyone else is struggling to get started with OpenTX.

Hi all

My recently purchased pre owned floater has stripped gears in one of the servos so I need to replace it. The replacement servo has arrived but I'm wondering what was used to secure the original one. It's a black substance about 1mm thick that feels slightly spongy to touch.

Does anyone know what it is and if I can get something similiar here?
Failing that, what's a suitable way of securing it into the hole under the wing?

Thanks
John
