I think there are strong parallels between that video and the world of RC flight Smile

For me personally, every major flying milestone so far has been a repeat of that same "I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't... oh wait, now I can" experience. Sometimes the transition to "I can" happened when I was demoralized and least expecting it.

Has anyone else experienced that same feeling?

I guys. I’ve just updated my real flight from 5.0 to 7.5, and it is brilliant it has FPV and flying with it is fantastic how ever
the FPV will only work on the graphic feels not the ones with photograph but that’s only a very minor problem, also doesn’t have GPS, of been able to fly quad copters and fix wing and with this weather the way it is it is the only flying available.

Kind regards, Bob.

Hey guys,

Is anyone here able to straighten a prop shaft? I have a 6mm prop shaft which is specific to a particular motor/plane combo and it's really difficult to source a replacement - I'd have to buy a whole new motor and it'll take a long time to ship.

The shaft itself is only slightly bent near the end, but I don't have a drill press, lathe, dial indicator or anything like that.

The shaft is 6mm, the top half is threaded. It's 45mm long in total, and the base, with the screw holes to attach to the motor, is 6mm thick. Aluminium. I could probably do this with a vice, a rubber mallet and a couple of pieces of wood (sounds like McGyver?) but if someone has access to a machine shop I'd sure appreciate it if it could be looked at.

Thanks in advance!

Directions to the field are as follows:

Go west along Windsor road until you get to the McGrath's Hill pub and take a right follow that down until you get to Pittown Bottoms rd take a left (the turn off is just before the golfcourse) Follow Pittown Bottoms road down amongst the turf farms until you get to an orange shed on the left hand side and there should be a sign saying "Sir Charles Kingsford Smith Model Aero Club" turn left into the gate and follow the road down to the flying field. It's pretty easy to find.

No need for me to say anything other than "I learnt a lot about CG yesterday and how to not trust the manual"

Hi everybody. Not sure which FPV gear to buy I’ve seen Jasons equipment and I got until you it might be cheap but it seems to work extremely well , reading some of the forums this seems to me a bit of a problem with some of the monitors been able to see the screen in full sun properly even with sunshades?, And as well they can range from $130 to over $200, If you are unfortunate to drop one of these monitors they certainly don’t bounce real well , it is also the question of how to mount the monitor there is a bracket that can attach it to your radio though there are questions about that really working real well the other option is on a tripod but not sure how good that is either.

The other question is the rules concerning FPV set down by our very good friends MAAA, my understanding of the rules is a bit vague maybe we need a clarification from MAAA
all the state body. All does the committee already have them?.

Kind regards, Bob.

This is officially A Big Deal in the admittedly small world of 3D RC planes.

http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/showt...p?t=182189

It is probably fair to say that EF and 3DHS, both American companies, have dominated 3D competitions over the past few years, with our own Precision Aerobatics getting an honourable mention. There are more similarities than differences, but in general each brand occupies a specific sub-niche:

EF - relatively heavy, built like a tank (my yellow 64" MXS being a good example), carries lots of momentum into tumbling maneuvers.

3DHS - jack of all trades, somewhere in between the other two

PA - relatively light, almost foamy-like behavior, emphasis on low 'n' slow.

As a side-effect of the merger, the combined entity (EF becomes the parent brand) is also introducing several lines of non-3D planes, though I expect (hope) the 3D stuff will remain their primary focus.

Hi guys. Quick question what’s size solder to use when soldering ESC to Power distribution board.
I had it prop strike on the right rear ESC and looks like it’s destroyed it.

Kind regards, Bob.
