So my son really enjoyed throwing his $3.50 kmart glider around between flying sessions on saturday, and he also wants to get into flying RC as well.
I looked into it tonight, kmart sell a large foam glider for $11 (https://www.kmart.com.au/product/big-foa...d-43073931) and it's a copy of / the same product sold in Europe via Lidl.
Turns out there's a huge community of people converting these things to RC in all sorts of fun ways (including making EDF jets out of them)
So I ordered a few small 3s batteries, some 4.5g servos, a 20A ESC and a small drone motor and props, I'll head to kmart tomorrow and pick one up to try out.

It will be interesting to see how the conversion goes. They gliders themselves are quite robust so it should hold up reasonably well to abuse.
