Who's got a Dremel?
#1

Hi fellow clubbers,

Has anyone got a Dremel tool? I bought a new Scorpion motor for the new heli and the shaft is about 10mm too long. Missed a critical dimension.

Shaft is 6mm dia so perhaps a bit bigger than normal. Need to cut it off neatly. If I don't, then beside looking odd, it could stab my lipo and cause serious mid-air issues... and I don't want that!

G'day Dave,
I've got one but it might be nicer to part it off on a lathe If you want to bring it along to the field next I'll shorten it for you neatly.

Yes, a lathe would be the best. I'll bring it down Sat and show you the issue.

Ok. Since you live so far away (150m) I think we could give it a whirl. failing that, Jason has access (or has) a lathe. What time? Gotta pick the girls up from netball training around 7.30. After that ok?

Gazz, might hold the surgery for the moment. I have ordered a counterbearing from Readyheli in USA (not stocked locally). This gives a strong assembly and needs the longer shaft. Might trim the shaft later when I know exactly how much is needed.
