I remember hearing you say something like this before Kev, but within about half-an-hour you were back in the saddle like you'd never been away Smile

Steve Murray

Yeh thats right Steve, and then his PC9 died.
No offence Kev, just pointing out to the other old fart that sometimes its not like riding a bike.
Particularly when you are riding the bike at close to 200 kph.
But with that said Im happy for Kev to fly my Katana

So Kev - it wasn't that you'd forgotten what to do with the sticks, it was just that you were let down by "old equipment". This should be something that Gazz knows all about Wink

No worries, you'll be right back into it again - looking forward to catching up this weekend!

Steve Murray

Oh to be able to fly good enough to have old equipment!! Wink

That's a good wicket you are on there, I would find a 3rd Party In House repair service highly useful.
Message to Paul, when you have repaired the Kev J induced carnage can you do him a favour and balance the prop?

As much as I'd like to be there today after so long not flying due to work and bad weather, I won't be able to make it down today. I fly out tomorrow morning for 3 weeks in Thailand with my family so today is busy getting ready day. I'll see you all in about a month.

Didn't make it down to the field today as planned.
Grandkids from Brisbane arrived yesterday and was hoping to
bring them down to see the planes.
However I tried to cut my lawn earlier this week seeing Pat is too
busy at work and I've succeeded in hurting my shoulder/neck while pulling
the rope starter. Didn't think I could stand looking up at planes and moving my head so
decided to give it a miss.
Want to be well for Temora next weekend. Biggrin

85% chance on Saturday - I'll take those odds.
I did a dreadful damage to my balsa plane @ Marulan but patched it up so it flies. I've got the fuse for a 1.4M Katana just waiting for the CNC turtle deck parts. Then onto the wings and covering. I need to accellerate my building to cover for my carnage Frown.

Look at that prediction for Sunday both wet and windy.

A week is a long time in the weather forcasting business

Might have to looking at fitting windscreen wipers to my sun glasses and floats to Edge 540

Hi All,
Who is thinking of flying this W/E?

From the forcasts I have seen there is a small window of opportunity early tomorrow morning with the light winds of between 5-10kms from the east and no rain.
Does anyone know the state of our field? I assume it will be soggy at best, so I am thinking of heading out to Penrith for the morning. Also I am keen to see the improvements that have been made to the field knowing the effort that they have been putting in of late.

Happy Flying
Chris M

I like the idea of flying tomorrow morning. I took today off (organised a couple of weeks back) thinking 4 days of flying would be great - only to see the weather turn sour. I am going to check out the field after lunch. I will post back on the field condition.

I'm thinking of heading down to the field tomorrow morning, looks like the wind will be calm
and hopefully the showers won't start untill later in the afternoon so I hope to be there for an early start.

With any luck the field won't be too swampy, perhaps the wind today will have dried it out a little.

Looking forward to your report Skids Smile

Well, despite a distractingly blue sky the cross strip and main strip have lying water in addition to the usual squelch. It'll be a heli and hand-launch session for anyone flying. The drive way, ramp and vehicle path on the field surface are dry (well and truly dry). The grass desperately needs a cut for anything other than planes with the largest of wheels and rolling weight. Not dry enough for cutting yet - not even the light foot print from push mowers.

BTW Kevin, all but the gravel is gone from your repaired hole at the bottom of the ramp (..warranty?)
