The wind was a challenge for the breave few but quite exciting to fly in . I tried my PT20 with 6S by serialling two 3S 2200 packs. It flew awesome with only a touch of throttle!! I measured the current draw and tach settings before take off and half throttle comfortably produced the same rpm as full throttle under 3S but at half the current. . Unfortunately, full throttle (which is too tempting to use) drew 62A.
As you can imagine, a little earlier that I expected, the motor cut out and I had to bring it in for an emergency deadstick landing - perfectly I might say . I was very stoked with the 6S performance but think that 4S will be quite adequate for this model. I was even more stoked that my emergency landing went very well, rolling in on wheels and there weren't big repairs to be done. The emegrency was later identified to be because of low voltage cutout by the speedy with one of the pack dropping to 11V and the other just a shade higher.
A great fun day but we cut it short as the wind was only growing stronger. The "one more flight" was abandoned before it tuenrd into a repair task .
