I do like the looks of that too, but it's not a variant. For one, it's "tiny" - about a foot and a half shorter

Not sure on batts yet - will probably begin by just paralleling up a couple 4S 2200mAh batts I already have and see how it goes. From RCG, seems like there's a a pretty wide range of options here - from 3/4S with a few thousand mAh, through to some folks running 4S/16000mAh, 6S/10000mAh etc.
