I'm using XT60's which is the yellow connector that HobbyKing ships with most their batteries now. They're a bit easier to solder than deans if the wire is thin.

You're carrying around dead weight if you take 2 ESC's. The BEC in an ESC is the same as a standalone BEC. They're both basically switch mode power supplies

Just keep in mind our MAAA insurance only covers us at flying fields however. Also fun to note our field is in a absolute no don't fly here zone! We are however cleared with CASA to fly there.
