That would be a hoot to fly. Not sure where would be a good place to fly it tho? Out on a dry salt lake in the desert perhaps?
Untill you've heard one of those engines running you cannot appreciate the amount of noise they make!!
That long grass looks pretty dry could be interesting if it went down in that. It's not super fast fast tho. It's reasonably swift but I wouldn't think it was quicker than a Q-500.
“The knack of flying is learning how to throw your machine at the ground and miss.”
"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your thoughts turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." ~Leonardo Da Vinci

This one is for Andrew. This is what I remember and it only has to be done once. After this is done you can then use the transmiter it is in to flash it again.

Turns out there's a huge community of people converting these things to RC in all sorts of fun ways (including making EDF jets out of them)
So I ordered a few small 3s batteries, some 4.5g servos, a 20A ESC and a small drone motor and props, I'll head to kmart tomorrow and pick one up to try out.
Not my image, taken from the 'Lidl Glider Group' on FB
It will be interesting to see how the conversion goes. They gliders themselves are quite robust so it should hold up reasonably well to abuse.
