That does look pretty cool Steve, however 5 secs is a long time without throttle, could be very interesting!!

It would be heaps better if you could tailor the "hit" response for specific members aircraft, for example:

Paul-- When hit an elevator detaches.
KevJ -- When hit the ESC explodes.
Ingo -- When hit aircraft zooms off and smacks the nearest building.

etc etc

I can feel a mid-air coming on.............. Biggrin Biggrin Biggrin Biggrin Biggrin Biggrin
Yea Rob elevators were a problem for me yesterday.
F16 too loose, Tucano worse than too loose. Redface Redface Redface Redface Redface

Anyway last night I extracted about a kilo of mud from
the inside of the cowl and found my motor and esc.
Esc middle wire has come apart guess that was on impact.
Cowl is in worse condition than I first thought,
Air intake is cracked and some of the fibreglassed
finish has been broken off on the outside.

Checked the web for a replacement and found one
in Singapore for $10 but another $10 postage.
Think I'll put some fibreglass on this one and see if
I can repair it myself.

Need to make up a couple of balsa formers and a ply firewall
and new elevators so I have taken Kev's plane to use as a template.
Should be ok.

Lol Lol

i will try to investigate actual drop of time for throttle if its adjustable but yes you want to be flying high and be able to glide for several seconds rather than 5 seconds
But thats the game Icon_twisted , and if you are flying low well you gotta land it otherwise stay high and glide till throttle comes back.
Im going to look into further if there is anything better and probably buy 3 in total if thats the best out there.

War on Icon_twisted Going have to keep practicing evasive maneuvers and watch Top gun 10 times

Lets see if that guy with Death to all planes avatar is ready for some competition with two planes from behind firing non stop. Icon_twisted Lol Death to One Plane i reckon Icon_twisted Lol

Victor,
You were asking me which paints Owen and I had put on our Trojan - these are the ones that we've used. I've only brushed them them on as I've not got any spraying equipment, but with a matt finish they don't show any brush marks anyway.
Got them from Bunnings and they're probably available in larger quantities.
All the best mate,
Steve

Here's a plug for a reputable little mail-order business.
This guy, Patrice Sparks, sells modification kits for commonly available planes - things that add a touch of scale detail like pilots, drop-tanks, bombs, radial engine facades, cockpit conversions ... all sorts of good stuff it you're wanting to add a touch to your plane. These are the sorts of things you can't get from HK.

http://www.parkflyerplastics.com/cart/

The reason I'm giving him a plug: I bought a UM Trojan cockpit conversion from him and paid using PayPal. I thought the price of the item was fine, but that the postage was a bit excessive but I went along with it anyway and didn't say anything to the seller about it. A day later I get an unsolicited email message from him saying that he'd taken it upon himself to find a cheaper postage option and that he'd already refunded almost USD $20 to my PayPal account! Well, my faith in human nature was restored and I'll gladly buy him a beer if I ever meet him person - one of the good guys!

Sorry Steve for not coming back to you before. As a matter of fact I only discovered you reply today. I have saved it and will definitely have a look nito Bunnings next time I shall be there.
I do not have any immediate paint jobs since the Trojan bas been binned a couple of weeks ago. The item you put on today is definitely interesting!!

Hello Pilots
Just thought I would drop this link on you all.
I have done hundreds of google searches for a multitude of reasons all R/C but never come accross these guys.
They are based in Maitland (Newcastle) and deliver via courier anywhere on the east coast for $25.00
You can check them out yourselves but their prices look like some of the best Ive seen in Australia and the rage is pretty awesome. Particularly for you guys who like the bigger war birds.
Thanks Kieran for pointing them out.
I just replaced my PC9 delivered to my door for $200.00

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need an outrunner motor for my Funcub build. Max thrust required would be 1100gms off a 3s battery. All the Hobbyking motors are on back order.

Can anyone suggest an alternative manufacturer/distributor?

I have an EMax 2205 2400kV sitting on the bench here. I think that'll pull it.

Gday All

Some time ago i decided to get off my arse and source some folding props for my gliders. Kieran pointed me to a gentleman called Peter Pine who stocks Aero-naut gear. I emailed Peter with some specs and got a very speedy and concise response. Kieran rates this guy very highly and I can understand why.
Peters website is here:
http://www.flyelectric.com
He is also the author of AEFA, their website is here:
http://www.aefa.dreamhosters.com/

I am going to wack in an order with Peter on the evening of Sunday 24th July. If anyone wants to get some goodies let me know and I will order for you. I will be ordering a couple of folding props and spare blades.

Cheers

Found this site for sd cards etc not bad pricing and class 10 speed to in micro sd, so hopefully will make a huge difference in my hd camera footage.

Ordered a 4gb class 10 hopefully will do the trick

FYI

Speed Class RatingThe Speed Class Rating is the official unit of speed measurement for SD Cards, defined by the SD Association. The Class number represents a multiple of 8 Mbit/s (1 MB/s), the least sustained write speeds for a card in a fragmented state (Class 2, 4, 6) or the minimum non-fragmented sequential write speed (Class 10).[17]

These are the ratings of all currently available cards:[14][24]

Class Speed
Class 2 2 MB/s
Class 4 4 MB/s
Class 6 6 MB/s
Class 10 10 MB/s
