G'day Steve,
do you have a spare 7X9 or 7X10 prop I might borrow to try on the Zeke ? Smile

Steve is up the coast with the family on holidays and wont be back until about the 6th of Jan.

Rob
Is it uncomfortable or is having props coming out of your arse something that you do regulary due to a bowl problem or have you actually got a small plastic factory up there.
If you can get me one, I would really appreciate it if your arse factory could get me a 4 blade 12 x 12 or 12 x 11. Lets see how your arse handles that champ.

Gday Gazz

I'll have you know that having props coming out of ones arse is incredibly handy.
My prostate is actually a very high kv inrunner so if I connect a 4S battery to my balls when I fart I can blow children over at close range or gas out fellow commuters at the other end of the train carriage.
Upon consultation with my proctologist I sadly advise that the provision of a 4 blader is beyond my internal mechanisms and would likely require a surgeon..
Sorry mate...

Also, have I just made the first arse/ fart joke on the PRCAC website?
If so can I get some gold wings or at least a percentage on my warning level?

Absolute CLASSIC !!

That's even better than the Indian bloke who rang up with the wrong number last night and asked to speak to Mashid. True story, I nearly dropped the phone trying to tell him that it wouldn't talk back.

No great hurry Steve. the little Zeke can fly on it's 8x8 for a while

Thanks again Steve
The 12 x 12 I need is a 3 blade, but after doing the maths a 4 blade 12 x 11 will be the ducks guts with the Hacker setup I'm using, and I found that through one of your links, the PC9 upgrade should be up and running early in the new year. I think that prop/motor combo should give the Starship Enterprise a run for its money.
PS: Im always up for a bulk buy you can never have enough props.

Question for Claudio and Jason
Can you have a look at this camera and let me know if it sounds any good.

http://www.modelflight.com.au/products/F...ght+Online&utm_campaign=d21be04ca5-Modelflight_News15_12_2011&utm_medium=email

I thought that for the money it looks like a good little camera to mount on various aircraft to record flight footage. Plus the fact it comes with a removable screen sounds ok.
But I'm no expert, Interested in your thoughts.
Thanks

I'll echo that.

If you're looking to get something cheap and nasty, you could try something like: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...duct=10093
(I've got one you can use if want to strap it to a model sometime)

If you're looking for quality footage, can't beat a Go Pro. Going to cost you a bigger chunk of change (~$250), but, well, just check out the footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUEZCxBcM78&hd=1 (be sure to crank it up to 1080p and run it full-screen)

It's what I would (will?) get if I was after high-def video.

Edit: Erm fixed broken youtube link (Harry Potter trailer, wtf?)

The camera looks OK but it's VTX looks like it's transmitting on 2.4 GHz which is going to be close to your RC links frequency.
Probably won't affect the RC link but the RC link might upset your video reception. Video needs heaps of bandwith compared to an RC link. Might be OK for short range with 36mhz RC link in a place where there is no other 2.4mhz noise

The VTX power is only 10mw I don't think this is enough unless you have a very very sensitive video receiver. and high gain tracking antenna. other wise range will be only 100-150 yards at best in a low noise environment. To give you an idea My FPV system's VTX power is 700mw on 1280 mhz and it still gets sketchy if you don't fly in the antenna's field.

It might be better than, that but those specs to me look pretty limiting for FPV applications

If you want a camera to do onboard recording of in flight video you could go for a cheap HD camera like the one Steve B uses. you need a fast micro SD card class 5 or higher steve knows a good supplier of these as well. and we are talking sube $50 all up.

If you want the ultimate in HD wide angle, a choice of HD formats and time laps ability as well as a great stills camera with many handy features then the GO-Pro is defiantly the one. You can also get aftermarket lenses for go pros so it doesn't have to be so wide angle if you don't want it to be and they come with a very tough water proof case. Gotta love em!! they are deer tho'.

You can get an AV signal out of a gopro to go into for your OSD and VTX for FPV flying/ground recording. But I think your better off using a gopro just as an on board recorder and having a separate camera for the video link. This is what most of serious FPV flyers do.

If you want to do a video link for ground recording or FPV I can give you some links to the suppliers I got my gear from

Hope this helps

This stuff is pretty good for patching dings and scrapes! (Ask me how I know ...)
Obtained from Bunnings (can't remember the cost, so it can't have been very much) - it's water-based so you can thin it to suit, dries pretty quickly and is easy to work and sand.

Yea I used that on all my foamies prior to fibreglassing or repainting.
Will not harm Parkzone, ST Model, Eflite or Phase3 models.
Can't say if any others but I think it should be OK.

Hi Guys,
Dumb question number 3: when applying the Cabot's polyurethane to a foam plane as a sealer, do you apply it using and air brush, spray gun or brush it on? Which is best?
