Arron what i was saying is that configuration you got at the moment of reverse elevator is how i fly my planes normally, up is up down is down.

Steve M, I swapped the motors on the P47 & T28, end deduced result T28 motor is f@#*ed, speedie ok.

It is the only HK one I could find that has the same can size but is 1100kv compared to stock 950 kv which parkzone state will take a 10.5 x 9 prop.
Do you or anybody know another site for a 870 - 950 KV motor 35-36 size.

Yes indeed Wayne - that motor is the one! Annoyingly, it's been on backorder or out-of-stock for several months though. (As an aside: I notice that the HK item description says that it is suitable as a power replacement for an .25 to .30 IC glow engine - I think that statement is wildly optimistic, but it is a good motor for the Parkzone Trojan.)

... and what makes them interesting is that they'll take 4S whereas the 3536C won't!

Have a look and see what you think, they're so cheap (especially the latter) that you could get a few different motor types and a bunch of different props in the one order and do some mixing and matching. Just bear in mind that you'll need a new ESC too, if you fit a motor and prop combination that draws more than 30A.

Guys you may not be aware but HK
have replaced the 3536C motor with this one.

Yes, thanks Paul - I did spot that one (it looks good and is probably a nicer item than the older version), but I got the impression that Wayne was looking at lower KV options.
Nevertheless, I'm going to put that motor on my "wishlist" and get a notification when they're back in stock. It wouldn't hurt to get one for testing at least.

Looks like it will take 4S, coupled with a 10 x 9 prop & a 60amp plush speedy should allow me to get a bit sportier, before advancing to bigger boys toys.

Wayne, I have a 950KV version of the G15 models Steve M linked to above (earmarked for the Stinson one day). Let me know if you want to give it a run and I'll bring it to the field - see if it works, and order me a replacement if you want to keep it?

Looking at the Park 480- KV910 specs, looks like it will turn the trojan into a sporty little plane but couldnt see if it came with a prop adapter. Looking at their speedies, not sure if programming cards available. Speedy instruction manual written by a 10yo with english as a 3rd language. Was hoping to up the standard 9.5 x 7.5 prop & pitch but it looks like that is not available. Not trying to be critical, just piecing togather multitudes of info I have gathered & trying to make a wise choice.
Was my choice a bad choice, reviews seemed pretty good & prop, speedie & motor seemed to match up.

Yes, the D3536 you've found would probably do. I notice that it's rated at 370 W whereas the 3536C I've got installed is rated at 400+ W so they're comparable, not much difference. In practical terms, all of these motors including the one Samste linked would do.
Claudio's offer is very helpful and I'd recommend taking him up on it as it's a good option and will get you something to commence testing in really short time. The only fiddly bit from here is rigging up a mount which will position the motor nicely behind the fake radial. Of course, you'll need to ensure you preserve the right- and down-thrust from the firewall, that's very important.

Claudios offer very much appreciated, but is 56mm long & many modifications needed. Gees I opened a can of worms. I respect the credentials of all of santa's little helpers, but confusion setting in again. Will discuss further at the field tomorrow before finalising any orders.

Ended up buying genuine PZ T28 motor from Ult Hobs to ensure a flight next weekend. Edging closer to buying Eflite Advance, (pardon the pun) in advance going to order mini servos. Can anybody suggest a blended budget/quality servo available from Hobby King (placing HK order soon).

Downloaded the manual for the Eflite Advance & MN48 Mini Servo by JR SPORT (3.5 kg torque) were recommended but are $24.00 each from Horizon Hobbies. Then I read the mixed reviews with multiple reports of gears stripping. Please can someone recommend something reliable at a reasonable price.

Thanks Pete, those servos seem to fit the bill for quality, looks like I'll have to wear the price for the protection of the plane. Looked up the prop on HK, can I presume you got them from HK, but they have multiple types of wooden props each having 11 x 8's. More help please

Thanks Kieran, price is a lot more respectable for this semi-scrooge, I will go the MG930 because of the metal gears (memories of Gazz's PC9 disintegrating crash with nylon gear servos).
Pete still interested in which 11 x 8 light wooden prop you chose.

Hi Wayne, ended up with a n 11x10 prop, and use 3.3amp 4s. The recomended prop was too close to the ground for the gravel field.

I also found larger wheels from Ultimate hobbies and put one of the larger 'wing' wheels on the nose.

You should probably state what battery/motor/esc you are running, Much easier to choose a prop to suit then.

Personal preference but I've bought most planes from Modelflight, servos and motors from Ultimate Hobbies(cause they're my local), ESC's and batteries from HobbyKing.

Motor - G32, ESC - 60A Plush, Prop - 11x8 light Wooden, Batt - 3.0mah 4S. (0nly change to his setup is your recommendation Keiran being the MG930 Digital Metal Gear Servo's) HK make 3 varieties of 11x8 light wooden props & was hoping to clarify which one he chose.

I like the light electric Turnagy wooden props. they are good and not too dear.
However they do teach you how to land nicely and for this reason
I usually buy 3 or four at a time.

... which would appear to be a really good T-28 motor. It will take 4S if necessary, it's only $16 and it's in stock. The only thing is that it offers a collet prop adapter, which I personally don't like that much, but they do work.
