So, when I get time... hopefully before christmas we can get the team back in the sky... SWEEEEEET!
Maybe even fly together at the Australia Day 2013 display... if we get invited.

Below is what not to do with a PC9 at 200+ kph

Picked up my new Seagull PC-9 this afternoon... I am really looking forward to getting the Gen3 model in the air.
I am doing a big power upgrade on this one, upping the power to 6S so I will be doing an airframe mod to make the battery installation easier as well as beefing up the front wing stress member for the bigger G loading... they are magic airframes but I feel the need to help the thing out with the stress I am planning on assaulting it with.

The 9 is almost done, It will be running on a Hacker A50-14S 425kV motor on a Turnigy 6S 4000 through a HK Mosfet 85 amp ESC, spinning a 12 x 12 APC prop. Ive spent a lot of time modifying the small forward compartment to fit the ESC and battery. Heat was always a problem with my old ones ESC due to high loading and poor air flow, so I have fixed that issue by making a big mod to the front of the aircraft so the ESC now gets external cool air flow right off the prop. I had to make the mount removable so the ESC can come in from underneath through my battery compartment upgrade, and I had to keep the airframe integrity up to par will making all these modifications.

Im pretty happy with the way it all turned out. Ecalc has me at a little over 180 kmph but time will tell.
By the way Ecalc recons my old setup is 132 kmph
Hope to maiden the new beast this weekend... but I'm still waiting on delievry of my batteries, Ive got a substitute for the maiden.

Very neat Gazz, I think you've cured the heat problem !!

It should be smoking fast now !!

Yeh it does look pretty cool... sort of looks like a shaker off the top of the old Falcon GTHO's.

Thanks Kiz but thats way more grunt than I need, besides that, its a bit to big.
I'm running Zippy Compact 4000 30C.
Because I'm running the Hacker A 50 -14S now instead of the Eflite 46 my current draw has droped to 42 amps static full stick, so 30C is probably a little overkill, but I can deal with that!

Hi Kieran
I can use another 6S for my Supertucano if you want to sell it.
I'm also using the Zippy compacts these days but if you want to sell it for a reasonable price i'm interested.
