What size EDF does it run?
How much battery mumbo do you speak?
How much does it weigh?

ie: Is it guna to go like a scalded cat or what?
Can't wait to see it in the air.

64mm EDF
1300mah Battery
Wingspan 750mm
Length 1000mm

That is the stock configuration,
I doubt that it will scream with that, but expect that
I'll be upgrading a few things very quickly. Wink
Want to just try it out stock first to see what sort of flier
it is then decide if it's worthwhile spending a few bucks on

Well seeing as my eyesight wasn't so good with
the US Navy colour scheme, the plane has defected
to the soviet bloc.Smile

Here she is now a member of the soviet airforce.

Real Aircraft

In real life this aircraft is privately owned in the USA
and flies in quite a few of their airshows.
Picking up my new glasses tomorrow so
hopefully I will be able to see it better.

OK.... Its been some time since I destroyed my beloved Seagull PC9 due to an ERROR IN JUDGEMENT while turning on crosswind after another enjoyable flight (all the hardware survived but the airframe was kindling).
Anyway.... Iv'e been searching for a suitable replacement for some time, I didn't want to get anything smaller (I like large aircraft, they have great presence in the air) the PC9 had a wingspan of 1540mm and a flight weight of 3.2 kgs and that was a good size for our field.
Ive looked at larger aircraft, even found a much larger PC9 with a wingspan of 1950mm and weight of 6.8 kgs, but they need 10 or 12S battery packs and become a lot more technically expensive not to mention that they need a lot more runway.

So Iv'e purchased this magic beastie, another Seagull model, a SUPER TUCANO, wingspan 1650mm and a flight weight of around 4.2 kgs, its designed for I/C but should lend itself nicely to an electric conversion without any hicups.
The quality is typical Seagull covered in Oracover and the quality of the finish is awesome.
It even comes with factory supplied mechanical retracts that research would suggest are pretty bloody good.
I will be running a Hacker 50-14S at 425kv spinning a 14 x 10APC with a Dualsky 80amp ESC powered by a 6S 5000mah battery, the servos will be a combination of Turnigy 958's and 959's with torques from 12 to 15kg. I expect the performance to be well above the PC9, although very scale.
After initial flight tests on the 14 x 10APC I may pump the prop up to a 15 x 12 but I will have to wait and see how initial load tests and preliminary flights go before that.
Iv'e already got all the hardware so hope to have it ready for maiden by the end of the month.
Really excited to have discoved this aircraft, it looks like a friggen ripper!

Get a coffee while the link downloads..... its worth a look.

very nice GARY . i can understand you adding that to your mix . i like the diversity you get with your rc aircraft . the detail looks great .

i have been looking at this model on e'bay for some time , started off wanting a PNF 1400MM EPO SEBACH from HK . but wanted something a little more .
so the next bet is the 57inch balsa version from SUPER AND CHEAPER .
however , the MX2 has caught my eye also . today the MX2 came down on ebay , AN AMAZING $179 INC FREE DELIVERY . could not resist ,
could see myself having to explain another plane to the missus , and then i snapped the buy now button,
here it is
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-RC-MX2-El...d_Vehicles&hash=item27c16868b7

it will be running 6s 3000mah batteries , with an 85amp esc and a 12x8 prop . with a 5055 700kv motor .
my only hitch being prop size .
i may come down to 5 s and try a 14x8 prop . have next week off so i'll have some nice build time happening hopefully .
IM NOW FULLY EXCITED .

patience !!Biggrin paaatience !!Paranoid paaaaaatience Tounge paaaaaaatieeence Lol dooooohhhh !!! Upset

Nice one Gazza !! That looks like an impressive airframe !! I'm sure you'll geta lot of enjoyment from it!!

Frank That's a bargain from super and cheaper!!
I've often wondered why there arn't more of these models at the club??? I think there's only, this one of yours, my red white and blue edge 540 and my Yak 55m. I'll bet it flies just as nicely as the other two. For that price well what can one say??

Now's the time to get them it's the end of the finantial year and there should be some great prices from those guys!

Maybe if I sell my Trojan I could buy another one of these Smile
anyone want a stock Trojan ready to fly in perfect condition for the price of one of these airframes and one of the motors listed below??

Perhaps have a look at getting one of these motors and spin a 15X6 prop
https://www.leaderhobby.com/product.asp?...4001224151

or this one
https://www.leaderhobby.com/product.asp?...4001224326

both are on special for less than $20 at the moment about 1/2 price I'd think

Hi Gazz, you seem to have the knack for locating nice aircraft & you have hit the spot again. Looks great & will be nice to see it in the air.
Frank, I love that MX2 as well, looks like a smaller version the one in the flying video.

Awsome looking plane and l love the camo scheme. I'm guessing you dont get the tanks, missiles and pilots and they are optional extra! would be nice if they did to finish off such a beauty. Love it already.Thumbup

There's one of those Tucano's hanging in the stairwell at Hobbies in the Hills, if I'm not mistaken.
Looks pretty good, but I think my FW-190 will easily shoot it down ... when I get it built, and if Junior is actually flying it.
