I don't know about the "flying f*ck" but have a look at these two ESCs and tell me what you think ...

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT

... they were at remarkable price even before the discount. Has anyone used 'em? I'm tempted to get a couple of pairs of these but there's no link to any programming information (no mention of a card being available, or a reference sheet).

I think the name say's it all, its a Mystery if they'll last the flight. Do some searches on Mystery ESC's, some are really good, some are craptacular (BEC Will fail as well as motor timing). I think the colour has to do with it as well, Blue = Ok, Yellow = Run away! Or vice versa... Who knows!

Its all a Mystery!

Hmm - thanks Kieran (I guess ....). Naturally, they're not going to be top of the line, but I was thinking that if they could be used to reliably handle, say, half their rated current - that they'd be alright at the price. I think I might get two of the 60A ones and bench test 'em to see what gives.

Just got a message from bidproduct.com offering Kingmax digital KM0918D servos USD $2.50 per item, with a minimum order of 100 pieces. Might be worthwhile if enough of us were interested in a bulk order - and provided these servos are worth even AUD $2.65 or thereabouts (I've been trying to find a review somewhere, but can't find any mention of 'em). Does anyone know about these Kingmax servos?

I know the Company well, I normally deal with frank and they are pretty good communication via email.
I Bought my King max TX and Rx from them ages ago and many bits and pieces, including my 200 amp ESC and separate bec which is being shipped .
They are slow in delivery normally around 21 days but they only charge $8.00 Delivery Flat Rate.
I have bought from them the 8g km-08d from them and they work well.
But i'm converted now and i prefer metal gear servos for strength for a few extra dollars and piece of mind.

Hey Kev
Might be time to start thinking about a PC 9 upgrade (is that possible?)
Its big brother has arrived
It looks like my good friends at Sebart have been burning the midnight oil to do just that.!!!
I want one !!!
This weapon comes with factory installed retracts and retract doors, it really looks the ducks guts.
It runs a hacker 50 motor plus the usual hardware so it has a similar powerplant to our PC 9s
Love it ... unfortunatley not available in Australia ... YET, watch this space.
Dont think it has the speed of the 9's though !

Yes - that's right Paul. I thought at first that it was due to flaps, but the later shots show that there aren't any.
Interesting!

Yeah, the landing didn't look anywhere near as hot as our resident Roulettes.

Hard to tell, but seemed like the landing roll had a healthy left aileron down input, so perhaps flaperons? (see also control wiggle at 3:44).

Edit: Sure enough, manual gives "Use flaps 60% down, both ailerons 20mm down". http://www.sebart.it/download/PC-21/manu...%2050E.pdf

Looks like a really nice bird.

My PC9's flight weight is 3.8 kgs. Seems pretty resonable to me.
Its not a 3D plane Jas its arobatic like the PC9, its just that Sebart builds such great aircraft that it is capable of semi 3D flight.

Gazz your right, I guess it's designed to fly at speed and take high G's and retain it's energy well so I reckon it has to have a bit more beef to it. The PC9 certainly does that and flies very nicely too.

The extra weight makes a plane less forgiving to fly in some ways, takes more time to accelerate, more time to wash off speed and means that the stall speed is higher too.

Just means that you have to fly it with in it's design envelope. Not that I'm biased towads 3D models or anything. (not half) Wink I just like the way they fly.

Looking at the video I was impressed at how it flew concidering it's weight. Sebart does build some nice machines !!
