Parkzone T-28 Trojans
#1

Hi All,
I've noticed that my T-28 is starting to get a bit worn in places and I'm thinking I may have to start replacing bits and peices here and there fairly soon.

There is nothing specific I'm after at the moment, but I've noticed that the various plastic bits as well as some of the foam bits are starting to crack/split/wear out/get thin and I'll need to replace them eventually.

I know a lot of club members had these planes at some stage and I was wondering if anyone has any old broken ones or parts of one laying around in the back of the shed that may not want and would be happy to donate to a worthy cause so that I could scavenge for parts as/if/when they might be needed.

Also, The motor in mine is making a funny clunk noise and I'm thinking that it's time to start looking for a replacement. Does anyone have hany suggestions on what a reasonable replacement would be?

Note: I'm not looking for unlimited vertical or 200kph+, just something maybe a little better than stock.

Thanks
Mick

Yes Mick, we're in much the same position. Haven't got any airframe bits and pieces, but here's the good stuff on the motor upgrade (which I'm in the middle of at the moment) ...

somewhere in toongabbie is my t28 that dad "flew away" if you can find it its yours Smile

to make it easy for you:

thats the motor your after, run it on a 10x7 master airscrew..

can put 4s batteries to it if you want to go nuts but otherwise your 3s 2200's will give say a 15-20% increase over stock performance, much better vertical without being stupid fast.

Hi Mick,

I've done this conversion using Chris's info - the only difference is that I made my firewall mount using 3 ply timber.

Works very well - & my training Trojan has plane parts from 4 planes.

Exactly what your doing now - I was given bits & pieces & the T28 was reborn.

Worth doing this conversion - if interested show you in the weekend.

Gday Paul

In all fairness to Kev if all the fasteners etc on your T28 were adequately loctited you would never have had that flyaway.

hah nearly went blind from that one, caution! when using old bottles of loctite be careful if it doesnt come out easily , squeezing harder does not always have the desired result.

Thanks for the replies. Guess I should place an order for a new motor and think about the mount. I've seen some metal ones advertised somewhere reasonablyl cheap so maybe even go with one of those.
