Hi Rob,

The battery is running out on the DX7 -

I didn't receive a charger from you??

As this runs only on rechargeables I require one ASAP.

Thanks,

Ingo

Gday Ingo

Bummer, I thought you had a charger for your 36mhz radio that you were going to use.
I didn't actually get a charger when I got her off Darren, I have been using the one that came with the JR2610.
I can chuck you the charger, or, in my next inbound HK order you can have one of the tx lipo's. I am pretty sure these are on the way right now.
Let me know?

Hi Rob,

There is Polarity problem (Centre Pin Negative)- don't want to use the wrong plug on the the wrong radio - this system uses 2700mAh Ni-MH. They advise not to use a 3 pack Lipo as this 12.6v output - the Spectrum on the other hand uses 9.6v - they say people have experienced failure using the lipo pack???

They highly advise not to use them.

In the manual Page 15 the X9303 2.4 system will operate for over 15hrs using the 2700mAh Ni-MH Batteries.

Shall price one from Ultimate Hobbies to be on the safe side.

Regards,

Ingo

Ingo, just grab a Lipo for it from HK, you wont need to charge for months at a time then.

Thanks Kizza,

Meantime I've managed to find a 12v 500mAh Switch Mode Power pack from work - changed the plug to ( - ) to Center Pin.

Is this what you use - the lipo pack?

Ingo

I used that exact battery in my DX7 for 8months before I got the new radio. I think I charged it twice maybe three times in that period (And you know how I leave my radio on at the field all the time!)

You will need to shorten the cables as its a bit of a tight fit.
There is a way to get into the service menu on the DX7 and change the low voltage alarm up to 10v as well but you will need to adjust your mindset to charge the radio when it hits 11.2v anyhow

Heh Ingo

If You are Concerned about Using Lipo in DX7 Use This Little Unit.

http://www.aprohobbies.com/lipo-stepdown...p-263.html

I been Using ever since i got my DX7 and works Fine and Ensures that you don't Over voltage the DX7

And Yes i know many people just Run The 3s Lipo Straight, but i just Taking the side of Caution using the Step down harness and thus peace of mind.

P.s 500ma is a bit too much for nimh batteries will shorten life very quick as the internal resistance is poor in nimh normally 300ma max ( even the new beut nimh max is normally 400ma with the exception of some at 600 ma)
If Your using stock tx nimh i'm thinking prob not a good idea but heh i'm only going by my kids remote control cars that use high discharge when running and there aa nimh and the fast charged ones are done and dusted and the slow charge ones are still going strong.

What Do You Mean Theres a Throttle Curve ?, Its Either all the way up or all the way down Tongue_smile

Thanks Steve,

I must confess that the manual as well as comments on the net say that you can blow the regulator transistor when above 9.6v.

I shall try to get a 120 -200mAh power pack, well stated 500mAh is a wee bit too high.

Thamks again for the info.
