What RC simulator are you using ?
#1

Ah, the never ending discussion on RC Simulators.. Realflight vs Phoenix vs others

For planes I am currently using clearview, which served me well thus far.
Now thinking of an upgrade to either Phoenix or Realflight.
Any recommendations ?

For fpv quad racing I am using Freerider, works well but the calibration to my DX8 is difficult to get right. I suspect it is due to my interface cable, planning to ditch the cable and go for this : https://hobbyking.com/en_us/dsmx-dsm2-pr...ongle.html )

Cheers,

Dirk.

Hi Dirk

I've got Phoenix, Realflight 7.5 and AeroFly (on Steam).

All are good but I say Phoenix. Updates are free and it is the most common among our members. I bought mine about 8 years ago from the developers in the UK long before Horizon took it up and I still get the latest updates.

Realflight 7.5 is more game like with the challenges and takes a bit of commitment. its hard even for me !
Realflight X looks interesting but you will need a $1000 Nvidia 1080 to run it.

I need my electrician to turn up then I can get back building, flying and maybe running a sim server some nights !

With the Phoenix Simulator, you can actually install our field into it and fly around but I find it a little bit out in the way of obstacles and boundaries, but otherwise still a good way to get flights in on a rainy day.....

Gravity sucks, or should I say, is the downfall of all things flying. It's the way it's controlled that makes the end memorable or not.

HI, dirk. Just tried to place an order for the dongle but totally unsuccessful stupid thing kept asking me for shipping method even though I’d already selected it and also added other items to my cart that I hadn’t ordered tried to delete them website crashed. Hate HK’s new website absolutely frustrating to use.

Thanks for the updates.
Sounds like Phoenix is the way to go (and go and join SRL's Sim server night : )

@Bob,
Yeah, we are all wondering why HK had to go and fix something that wasn't broken.
I can understand they wanted to improve the way you know/choose which warehouse you are ordering from, but the new orderflow is in no way better than what is was.

Yeah we can tell Smile

It wouldn't kill me to miss flying for one day, but then again, why risk it.
