To be honest Steve, I don't remember. It was all a blur. Basically yes, it did torque to the left to start with. My thoughts were that it took off too quickly due to the excessive tail weight. Because I then throttled up to get it moving, it then torqued left. I then tried to counteract with right rudder and aileron, but there was no response and it was headed straight for the factory roof.
You're right, when it throttles up there's a huge torque to the left. I suspect that the tail heaviness combined with the natural torque of a big 4-bladed prop just made it too difficult to counteract the pull to the left.
I can't remember what I did after that - it was flying with a mind of its own as you can probably see. I think I probably deliberately steered it to the left when it became apparent that it was headed for the factory.
Everyone who's seen the video has said that it shows classic signs of tail heaviness. I just wish I picked it up at the time :-)

The worst version of that is when you use the recommended gear, and confirm the c of g is at the factory specified position and it does that... Thanks Eflite.
