Indoor Index flying this Thursday
#1

Here's the latest guys. will be flying at the Strathfeild Indoor this Thursday.
Its so cold outside !
Its great flying weather but the LIPo's are not working good in it.
I re wired the ar6300 direct to 2s last night to stop the brown outs , had a night fly in the back yard and it works. The problems started with the cold weather so I now think that the 6a ESC only just does its job.
Already thinking about making the next one even lighter.

I need to get a Job!

I've got the same deal. But my soccer training is 6:00-7:00pm @ Ryde Oval so it is only a short hop over the river to Strathfield Smile.

I'm planning to be there with a new BYOB and a naked hangar rat Wink. It all depends on how my building goes tonite!

I've just finished my Hangar Rat tonight. A little forward on balance if the tiny glides are anything to go on but I'm just now waiting for some rubber to power it.

Everything is competition legal except for the covering. Rather than tissue, I thought I'd try a modern elastic polyethylene sheeting typically used as a biochemical shield - cling wrap Wink. I'm not sure but it's probably at least a dozen or so microns thick Smile.

Indoor Flying this Thursday evening 5th August.

Do you have a Parkzone miniture P51 or Cub and need still air to fly it? For the past several years there has been an indoor flying meet in the basket ball court at Strathfield. Interests are varied - Homemade, RTFs, Rubber and small helicopters. Usually a small group of 7-10 people, no formal membership requirements. Cost is nothing to watch, to fly is $5, kicks off from about 7pm and winds up by 10pm.

Location Seventh-Day Adventist School, Albert Rd, Strathfield.

I hope it goes well. Unfortunately, I won't make it this time around. My Hangar Rat needs wing struts and my index is putting on weight faster than Morgan Spurlock (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0390521/). I've got a new index fuse waiting for gear.

Hopefully I'll be able to avoid more walls next time.

I'm back in te air with a new Index. At 144g it is still porky compared to some but it has pull-pull control for elevator and rudder and is using my new Sepctrum DZ7 with an orange receiver.

I've even dared set it up initially with 40% expo!
I think the next Strathfield session is September 28th.
