Multi Rotor help
#1

Hi guys,
I'm looking at setting up a Multi Rotor to do some basic camera stuff with, and possibly FPV in the future with it. Is there an advantage with sticking with 4, or better off with 6 or 8 motors?

Which frame to get? I've looked at this one, which looks pretty cool. Is it alright?

Flight controllers, there seems to be a lot of people using the DJI Naza. Is it as simple as frame, controller, kit it out and just fly?

Is there other things I should be looking at?

You could start simple like the HK Multistar Multistar to get used to quads, these are PNP

Or you could build one using the HK Talon v2 frame as i have and do simple FPV, my set-up gets me 12mins air time on 4S 4500mah.

I've just built a TBS discovery and these are the ducks nuts! Mongrel Gear

More motors mean bigger battery, more weight, less air time...

I fly with Naza, simple and easy to use, the lite version does the job.

FPVLab and RCGroups/Australia Region are the forums to read for quads and FPV.

Or you could just get a DJI Phantom, probably best PNP value on the market for video/FPV

Hi Pete,
Thanks for the info, I have been playing with a Walkera X350, it's good but I've had to re bind it a couple of times when it wouldn't arm. Not sure why!!

I had a look at the Mongrel Gear website, it's got some cool things. I'll do some more research and come up with something.

Another two good Aussie websites are Wickedcopters and multirotorgear.com.au.
