Hi Paul
You are welcome to come down to the field any weekend we are flying (if the bloody rain ever stops). and introduce yorself. We require all perspective club members to visit regularly to get to know everyone.
You will find directions to our field on our home page. Drop in and say geday.
The spectrum radios are an excellent beginners or even advanced radio. If you are planning on getting into the hobby seriously you are better off to bite the bullet and buy yourself a good radio from the start. I would recommend the DX8 as it is a radio that will grow with you.
As to a good beginners plane the list is endless, there are a lot of good aircraft out there. If you have some previous skills the Parkzone T28 Trojan is a plane that many pilots buy, you will find about 10 members in our club have them.
But before you race out and spend your hard earned money, drop buy the field so you can have a look at the variety of aircraft that are available so you can make an informed decision.
Something else you should consider to help you improve your skills and get flying sooner is a RC flight simulator, once again there are cheep ones and more expensive ones, but they will make a big difference to you flying and confidence.
Hope to see you down at the field soon.
Cheers Gazz
