With switches that are very important such as the one above, I tend to use a double pole switch and link both contacts together so you have two contacts rather than 1.
In high risk enviroment i actually use two separate switches linked Together so i am not relying on one switches spring/sliding mechanisms.

What Do You Mean Theres a Throttle Curve ?, Its Either all the way up or all the way down
