Impressive. Were you flying the whole time or have it in a 'loiter' auto-pilot mode?

I was flying RC. There was no camera, fpv gear or autopilot onboard. Omitting these saves upwards of 60-Grams and 9-Watts.

Cheers,

Drone features on one of Australia’s most popular YT channels.

This is like how we used to build fuseladges 30 years ago with fibreglass.
I just wish we had 3D printers back then.

RE: Videos: RC Flying - Busboy - 12-10-2021

Check out these guys doing long range FPV and using iNav radar for close proximity flying with other aircraft.

RE: Videos: RC Flying - srl - 06-06-2022

Like most of us this guy still has his Taranis.
Be sure to test it.

SD card has to be updated. Looks like un ticking a box will force it to update.

A long time ago we would see a bit of this at our Nationals, the sporting halls in our inland towns were not as big as this venue.

Ever wondered what happens inside of a RC Jet engine?
Then check out this video.

RE: Videos: RC Flying - srl - 09-07-2022

This would be nice to fly. My father had control line pulse jets in the 1950s.

They are fuel tanks up the front.

RE: Videos: RC Flying - secant0give - 14-07-2022

That would be a hoot to fly. Not sure where would be a good place to fly it tho? Out on a dry salt lake in the desert perhaps?
Untill you've heard one of those engines running you cannot appreciate the amount of noise they make!!
That long grass looks pretty dry could be interesting if it went down in that. It's not super fast fast tho. It's reasonably swift but I wouldn't think it was quicker than a Q-500.

Too big for Mccoy field.

RE: Videos: RC Flying - srl - 13-09-2022

This one is for Andrew. This is what I remember and it only has to be done once. After this is done you can then use the transmiter it is in to flash it again.

I just did a tune on my Irangex muti module, set it to +12.
Still to do my Jumper Tlite.

This Tx16 does look good.

RE: Videos: RC Flying - caffeine - 30-03-2023

So my son really enjoyed throwing his $3.50 kmart glider around between flying sessions on saturday, and he also wants to get into flying RC as well.

I looked into it tonight, kmart sell a large foam glider for $11 (https://www.kmart.com.au/product/big-foam-glider-assorted-43073931) and it's a copy of / the same product sold in Europe via Lidl.

Turns out there's a huge community of people converting these things to RC in all sorts of fun ways (including making EDF jets out of them)

So I ordered a few small 3s batteries, some 4.5g servos, a 20A ESC and a small drone motor and props, I'll head to kmart tomorrow and pick one up to try out.

Not my image, taken from the 'Lidl Glider Group' on FB

It will be interesting to see how the conversion goes. They gliders themselves are quite robust so it should hold up reasonably well to abuse.

Here's a video of some in action:
