I agree Paul,

Few weeks ago they had a $1.00 delivery charge over $50.00 spent.

The same applied to me - the service & delivery was excellent.

HK NSW warehouse is really good.
As I mentioned above HK had a black Friday sale going all over
the weekend. I really needed to replace a couple of my batteries
so I ordered and paid fom them just before midnight Sunday Night.
They arrived here today just before 1pm. Keep in mind that this was via
road transport only because of being batteries.
Don't know if I'm the first club member to receive something from the
NSW warehouse but I really am pleased with the service.

I'd done the same as you, ordered batteries on Sunday night and they arrived Today.
Not bad service ay!
They just need to stock up on more stuff....

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - Drew - 23-12-2010

Father Christmas says that I can buy some RC gear for Christmas. As part of that, I would like to get a couple of 4S batteries for my PT20 balsa plane.

What is your opinions on the difference between
a 4S 20C 2650mAh (Turnigy @ $14 or $19 from AUS, Flightmax $15) or
a 4S 20C 3000mAh (Turnigy @ $18, Flightmax $17).

I'm thinking that flight times aren't going to be appreciably longer but I may get a little more grunt. There's only about 40g in weight difference so I don't think that will be significant.

I'm a bit price sensitive and figure I can almost buy three batteries for the price of two (with some creative mathematics Wink ). So, I'd go for the 2650s unless you have experiences which indicate that the 3000 does make an appreciable difference.

So... Whatchyarekon?

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - kizza42 - 23-12-2010

Bigger is better Wink

Just the extra discharge capacity if you're on the edge of 20c will be worth it.

Looks Like a Great Beginner Trainer Plane, and at a great price it may be a good buy when and if it goes to aussie warehouse.

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - kizza42 - 15-03-2011

Looking for a volunteer to take on group orders for a month or three, I'm absolutely burnt out at the moment with work and can't afford the time or the expense to keep these going at the moment.

Will be happy to train anyone to do them, show how to use spreadsheets etc.

Kieran,
It looks like you haven't been flodded by offers to assits. I think this is a great thing that we can cooperate and share the benefits of ordering together (not related to our association with the club).
Although I won't promise to be able to perform as well as you have, I am prepared to take it on for the next few months. If you can nominate an evening or w/end afternoon, we could maybe sit together and walkthrough your processes.

(Not the 3rd, 9th or the 16th).

Drew.

Gday All

I was not sure where to put this however please follow the link below to CASA's Flight Safety Magazine in regards to the dangers of airfreighting Lithium batteries, article is in the middle of the mag.

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - kizza42 - 07-04-2011

Hobbyking have employed several aviation safety companies to help them with Lipo packaging. I can tell you they're certainly well packed nowadays. If there are more incidents, its highly unlikley that HK caused it.

Also, I didn't know they did Airsafey Aus online now! Awesome! I have been missing my fix since dad quit flying.

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - Flying fisho - 25-04-2011

Hey Bob,
Your order on the Group Order thread may cause problems and I have possible solutions if you are interested.
Prob 1: format.
Solution:put a space between quantity & URL ie 1 x http: not 1xhttp: & no comments or questions except on this thread.
Prob 2: Orange receiver on backorder & only available Honkers
Solution: I have spare orange receivers & you can buy 1 from me at my $7.95 cost price.
Prob 3: There can be delays in ordering Lipo's from HK or wait till Kieran is doing an Aus warehouse order (cant mix order).
Solution: you can use the 1600 lipo you test fitted on Sunday until your order arrives.

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - robair - 06-05-2011

Gday All

Seeing as I am speculating my nuts off in another forum at the moment I must ask the question, why is HK now selling turbine FOD guards?
Could we see some budget turbines in the near future from them?

Cue spooky x files music.....

Cheers

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - kizza42 - 06-05-2011

Heh, Darren & I noticed last night as well. If they sell Kingtech, I'm all for it. If it's Jet Joe, then I'll say thanks but no thanks.

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - samste - 11-07-2011

Hi All

Was keen to Order some Nanotechs very soon while they are back in Stock.
Not Sure if its Cheaper to buy in bulk but i was wanting to buy at least Two and Aussie Site just seem not to stock them.

It may be cheaper in the sense that the shipping cost is spread over several people so if one was buying one lipo it would be an expensive lipo.

But if 6 where bought it would not be so bad

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - gbanger - 01-09-2011

Hi Kieran
I just spent over 2 hours sorting through Lipo's putting an order of batteries together that I need an the buggers have a cap of 3400 mAh or some crap like that. Most of the batteries I want are big suckers Can you let me know how to get the Lipos I am trying to order. By the way its over $500 worth and weights a tad under 8 Kgs.......HELP!

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - kizza42 - 02-09-2011

Select another shipping method or order from AU warehouse if you can. I've ordered over 4000mah before, you just have to choose the appropriate freight provider.

Hobbyking Wrote:Shipping Li-Poly batteries by Air Parcel
Due to international air safety regulations, parcels with a total battery capacity of more than 3200mAh cannot be sent via standard 'Air Parcel'.
Please select Air Mail, EMS Express, UPS, DPD, SingPost Air Parcel or DHL where available.

If you insist on using standard Air Parcel, then either reduce the lipo capacity ordered per parcel, or order from one of HobbyKings US, EU or AU warehouses without limitation.

Options.
1) Order via EMS Express, UPS, DPD, Air Mail, SingPost Air Parcel or DHL if available.
2) Reduce total battery capacity to under 3200mAh.
3) Order from Hobbyking.com DE, US or AU warehouse if available.

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - gbanger - 03-09-2011

Thanks Kieran
I worked it out.
For anyone putting in a big order for Lipo's.
The total weight MUST be under 4 kgs.
I split the order in 2 and it went through no worries wih EMS.

RE: HobbyKing Group Orders - Discussion - gbanger - 18-09-2011

Hey Kev J
If you want to get a 3D bird and dont want to spend to much this new beastie looks the goods. If I didnt already have a heap of 3D aircraft I would order one of these.
