Depron from Depron Australia - Drew - 03-07-2010

I'm planning to order some more depron as I've built myself out of the original order and I've over-bent my Index 3 already Frown.

Depron Australia have 2, 3 and 6mm sheets and include up to 20 sheets in one delivery fee (Shipping details).

Does anyone else want some sheets? Product list

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - Too Drunk to Fly - 06-07-2010

Hi Drew,

I have no idea what depron is like to work with but have been curious ever since joining this club. To satisfy my curiosity could I get:
1x 2mm and
1x 3mm sheets with your order, hopefully I'm not too late...
Thanks.

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - Drew - 06-07-2010

I'll leave it a couple of weeks before I order to let people warm-up to the idea Smile. A good pick for glue is the UHUPOR glue @ $8 pertube. An alternative is a Selleys glue - see srl for details.

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - kaindub - 10-07-2010

Glue
I've found a glue called Multihesive. Its not available in Bunnings but from some local hardware stores. Do a google search to locate it.
It cliams to glue plastics, but it works great on all typrs of foams (depron and blue cor included). Pretty cheap, dries in a few hours and sets firm after 24 hours. You'll know it as it comes in a yellow squeeze bottle.

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - Drew - 11-07-2010

Yes, I used this for my biplane and parts of my initial Index build. My issue with it is thelong drying times.
At the moment, I'm experimenting with KwikGrip Extra. It claims to be foam safe and as a contact adhesive, will give a good immediate grip which strengthens over time.

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - paulj - 11-07-2010

UHU Creativ for styrafoam is another option.
Spotlight sell it at around $10 a tube.
Be careful but because there are other types of Creativ for wood etc.
Drying time is approx the same as UHU Por.

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - Drew - 26-07-2010

As I've just stuck my Index up a tree, I'll be placing this order in the next couple of days.

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - Drew - 26-07-2010

The order is in. I have some spare sheets if anyone is interested but didn't say so.

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - paulj - 27-07-2010

Also how much per sheet?

Otherwise whenever you are next available is fine as I'm not in any great hurry

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - Drew - 17-11-2010

Icon_evil Annoyingly, I chased them about the order and confirmed that it has got lost. Fortunately, they finaly responded and I have resubmitted the order.

I hope you weren't in a rush to finish a build.Frown[/i]

Sorry it has caused you a bit of hassle.

I confirmed this afternoon that the order is in the post. ETA late next week.

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - Drew - 23-11-2010

It has arrived.

I will bring the box to the field on Saturday (hoping optomistically for great weather). If you would like it sooner, give me a call and I'll work out a good time to swap.

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - Drew - 31-08-2011

With some taking the depron challenge seriously, it might be time for another box of foam. Any requests?

So far...
Aaron 4x6mm & 2x3mm
Kevin B 5x6mm, 2x3mm & 2x2mm
Jason 5x6mm
John J 4x6mm & 2x3mm

I will be putting the order in this week. At the moment it looks like:
2x Mixed 7 sheet pack + 1x 10sheet 6mm + 1x 5 sheet 6mm
Conveniently, well over $99 so free shipping Smile.

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - Too Drunk to Fly - 01-09-2011

4x 6mm and
2x 3mm

I have no idea what I might build.

Thanks Drew.

RE: Depron from Depron Australia - Servo - 01-09-2011

5 x 6mm
2 x 3mm
2 x 2mm

feel free to adjust the number upwards a bit if you need to balance the order.

There is a company in the US selling 1mm depron but the postage is high so I don't have the actual price yet. Are u interested in some 1mm?

thanks Drew
