Looking for a Compressor Adapter - Kedumba - 30-05-2014

Hi All,

Since we don't have an "Off Topic" forum, I'll have to post here.

I've decided to have a go at playing with airbrushing and spray painting, so I ordered a Super El_Cheapo Airbrush from Hobbyking and then headed over to Ebay and picked up a cheap Air Compressor to run it. Both arrived within a day of each other but I've not been able to get it going cause I can't connect one to the other.

According to the Compressor manual, it has a 1/8" BSP male connector for the air outlet. I dunno what the airbrush uses but I've measured the connection on the hose to be as close to 5mm diameter as I can measure.

I'm guessing I need a Female 1/8" BSP to male 5mm adapter.

Does anyone know where I can get such a beastie?

Quick Google searches haven't been helpful and only eBay listings come from England where they want $4 for the adapter and $20 for postage which I'd rather not do unless it's a last resort.

Thanks in advance all...
Mick

RE: Looking for a Compressor Adapter - Kedumba - 31-05-2014

Just an update.
I went to my local Hobby shop who couldn't help. He suggested Bunnings. Went to Bunnings but they couldn't help and directed me to Super Cheap. Went to Super Cheap but they couldn't help and suggested perhaps Robos'. Went to Robos' and they couldn't help but suggested Pirtek. Pirtek closed for the weekend so that's as far as I got.

Upon reflection, since 1/4" seems to be the standard connector, I think it'd be better to get a 1/8" (female) to a 1/4" (male) adapter. That would allow me to use other stuff with the compressor as well.

So, Still looking and will gladly accept any suggestions...
thanks

Hare and Forbes (http://www.machineryhouse.com.au) in North Parra have a lot of compressor accessories. Page 162 of their catalog lists a few:
