Alas, until we sell our house we have another Open House tomorrow afternoon, so frantic cleaning/tidying tomorrow morning & no time for flying. Father's Day Sunday means probably won't make it down then either. Have fun guys; hope to join you sometime soon.

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - brotherblonde - 02-09-2011

Thanks Rob. I wouldn't have expected any less from Proud Aussie Pilots flying an Aussie Airline. Smile

BTW all,my shoulder is still crook. Had an MRI today, 2 week wait to see the specialist again. Thank God it's compo....been off work 6 weeks now. Frown If I could fly I'd be happy, but I can't hold my arm in the "transmitter position" for long.

Having made all my father's day house calls today -footballs over & I've seen all my kids today. have tomorrow free!

I shall be flying tomorrow at last - will be there from about 8.45am if there others who would like to come along & share the air space.

Have badges for those financial members who have yet to recieve them, if you cannot make it they shall be in my car & I shall give them to you next weekend or when I see you.

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - Drew - 04-09-2011

I can't believe it! A beautiful sunny day with no wind and my wife offers for me to go flying and I turn it down!!!
Squeezing flying in between the pre-booked fathers day fixtures just wouldn't work well. Frown

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - gbanger - 04-09-2011

I dropped by the field this afternoon at 2.45pm and flew till 4.30 Condtions were magic.

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - smuzz - 04-09-2011

Why didn't you give me a call?... I'd have run over there and given you some unneeded background noise. By the way mate, I think I'm finally getting around to understanding what you've been saying all along about quality gear versus ... "affordable" gear.
Catch up with you on Wednesday at the Bowlo!

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - Skidz - 04-09-2011

1. Drew, so sorry you didn't make i t down. We still need to discuss your mode 2 DX6i - which I would like.
2. Magic day indeed. My lovely wife said zippo when I was at "Bunnings" for 3 hours Wink . Dropped in on the way back from the field to get some lawn greening chemicals - but the battery bag copped a beating - oh yeah!!
3. Gazz, missed you by an hour and a bit. What a fantastic day (to go to Bunnings) !

So what's the story with Jit Kennict? (worst Kiwi accent I ever typed). Mr Travolta said all the Qantas planes were flown by Aussie pilots. I've been had !!!

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - Drew - 05-09-2011

I'm definately booked in to be at the field next Saturday - now watch the weather turn Frown.

Saturday looks shit at this stage but Sunday has got me by the short and curlies Yeh haaaaa!!!
Hoping to get the DW in the sky over Toongabie.
Hey Dave. Speaking of DW's are you still pondering joining the dark side????
Would you like I Deuces Wild???
I know some one who has a brand new one complete with factory seal still in the box , as a matter of a fact it hasn't been opened because its on its way from the shop.
Yes thats right gentlemen smoke em if you got em. I got me a 100% genuine E Flite DW from a hobby shop out the back of Woop Woop. I might even consider selling it ... if the price was right........ naaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

You have my attention.

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - brotherblonde - 07-09-2011

Dave, don't get me started on Jit Connict....particularly on an open forum. Wink

Don't get me started on QF in general at the moment.

I'm glad that I'm at home on workers comp for a while.....keeps me away from it all.

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - robair - 08-09-2011

Gday Andrew

Mate that is a long time to be not flying? I'd be going nuts if that was me.
Hope the shoulder is on the mend.
FYI I will be on QF569 to Perth later today, this 767 will of course be flown by "real" QF pilots with the correct exemplary attitude and culture ingrained at a cellular level. It's always a pleasure being in the VERY best of hands.

Cheers
Rob B

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - smuzz - 09-09-2011

Fixed-wing aircraft using undercarriage won't be able to use the runways this weekend (see the "Field Condition" thread), but helis, 3D and lightweight machines would be alright.

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - gbanger - 10-09-2011

Satuday morning and not a cloud in the sky... go figure!!
If the weather continues to improve ... I will be going out to Emu heights for a fly but will make a decision and post here at 9 am

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - smuzz - 10-09-2011

There are strong winds blowing out here now Jason, not much chance of a let-up either.

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - Drew - 10-09-2011

I went down around 10:00ish and bumped into John Hale who had come down for a visit but not to fly. I ended up leaving the RC gear in the car and doing some control line flying - with kites Wink.

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - gbanger - 10-09-2011

I have to work in the morning, bloody boats. If the weather is OK I will be going straight to Penrith from work. Hope to be out there by about 10.

Conditions looking nice for a quick morning flight out there. Anyone heading over?

I intend on going down to the field at around 9-30 for an hour or so.
I am hoping the lake on the angle strip has dried up.

I'll be there shorty

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - gbanger - 13-09-2011

I know its a little early gents but the weather forecast for the rest of the week is looking pretty bloody spectacular. If the weather continues as is we might be in for a cracker of a weekends flying, wont that be a nice change.
Gazz

RE: Sticky: Flying this Weekend... - smuzz - 14-09-2011

Yes, that would be a nice change Gazz - in fact Willy says 29 degC on Saturday!!
Unfortunately, I won't get to do a field inspection/report this Friday, as I have a f#*j€ing all-day meeting at work, so we might have to rely on someone else letting us know what to prepare for.
See you on the weekend!
