Hi can anyone help.
I have this plane In the link below which requires the 11.1 4500 3S batteries.
Thing is I have none in this spec and about 10 batteries which are 11.1 2200 c25 3S battteries.
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/phantom-fpv-...gLPWfD_BwE
Can this plane be flown with my 11.1 2200 batteries or do I have to buy a 11.1v 3S 4500 battery?
We might be back flying soon if we are categorized as Community Sports

I just bought a Radiomaster TS16S. I was able to use it for a while to setup but lately, I am not able to boot the radio. When I push the power button, the splash screen (Welcome screen) appears but it will stay there and does nothing. Pressing the power button again to turn it off does nothing as well. Which means the radio has hang up. I think it has entered an endless loop somewhere in its programs. To power it off, I have to remove the battery. Putting the battery back and repeatedly doing the same steps, sometimes the radio will boot in Emergency Mode. In this mode, the radio can be turned off with the power button. if you are lucky, sometimes the radio will boot properly which is very annoying.
I've been researching all over the place but recommendations I found does not convince me. Until I remembered, I replaced the SD card with a bigger capacity. I used a size that is recommended but have reused an old SD card I have. Just for curiosity, I copied the contents of this SD card to the original SD card that came with the radio and this had fix the issue. Which means TS16S has some issues reading my old SD card even if it can be properly read in a PC.
Should anybody experience the same, try changing the SD card before trying the recommendations found from Google. One of the recommendations is if you have replaced the splash picture, the size of the picture you have used is not the correct size causing the issue. Yes I have replaced the splash screen. I tried restoring it to the original picture, but this did not fix the issue. Another recommendation is one of the ribbon wires inside has some loose connection. I did not open my radio as it is very new, and I don't believe this is the root cause. This issue has been logged in OpenTx site. https://github.com/opentx/opentx/issues/8672
Aside from this incident, the radio is fantastic if you are techie techie person. If not, all you will get will be frustrations as this radio is very technical. You can configure it to do what you want but you have to tell the radio the task you want which might be very technical to some. Coordinating the Inputs to the mixes to the output was a challenge from the start but once you get the hang of it, everything makes sense. Programming the curves, rates and EXPO is a little bit different from other radios but the concepts are the same. And they have added Logical Switches, Special Functions and Global variables which is fantastic but again very technical cause they use logical terms like comparison if variable (Greater than, less than, equal to, EDGE, AND, XOR etc). Programming this in the radio is a bit tedious but doing it via the Companion App is easier.
I'm still very new to this radio but I'm happy to help answer any questions if I can. I think I have covered the basics plus a handful of the advance topics to configure the radio for a Helicopter. Plane is easier but the concepts are the same.
G'day All,
I'm aware some will be having difficulties accessing other parts of the forum, I am working on a solution.
Some may have noticed out-of-control panes on the field that result from my efforts and struggles with 3d aerobatics. I got started with 3d after looking at some vids by Michael Wargo.
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthre...hael-Wargo
Its true I have not made a lot of progress but its great fun.
However I have now found a website with tutorials that I think are much better if not fantastic.
http://www.wild-wings.co.uk/
Check out the hover (in UK English its called prophang)
http://www.wild-wings.co.uk/tutorial.php...=134232130
I have not yet seen all the tutorials but in them there is an emphasis on practice, including getting a foam shockie (UK for cheap profile plane), and using a simulator. The hover and rolling harrier are more complex than I had realised and may take many hours (in my case read years) of practice to perform as demonstrated on the wild-wings vid. Another point is that the standard aerobatic manoeuvres need to be performed very well as a prelude to undertaking 3d manoeuvres.
G’day Gents,
Due to the newly announced lockdown for Greater Sydney our flying field will be closed until it is lifted or alternative advice is provided.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Jason
Hi,
Has somebody setup the HeliCommand auto pilot before on a Helicopter. If you have the computer App to configure the HeliCommand, could I make a copy of the software. And where did you buy the cable to connect the HeliCommand to a computer during setup? I'm setting up a Trex 450 and Trex500 that I bought second hand that came with the HeloCommand but it did not come with the software and cables. I've downloaded the manual to set it up without the computer but it did not work. Some people in forums said that you need the software to properly setup the auto piot. Pictures of teh unit attached.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks,
Carlou
Ok so I have a ]Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 3548- 1050kv The description says that the motor can run on 3s or 4s, its max load is 50A and its max power is 820 watts, HobbyKing also recommends a 70A ESC and props from 11 to 13 inches so I tried running on 4s using a 80A ESC and a 12x6 prop and the load was 100+Amps and 1500+ watts of power, of course the motor got hot really fast, using 3s with the same setup and the load was 70+Amps
Now I am running on 4s with a 10x5 prop and it is already reaching 57 Amps, my questions are:
does these numbers make sense? there is no way this motor is going to move a 12 inches prop without melting, why is my motor so out of specs? could it be my wattmeter, my ESC or the motor?
I don't know where to go from here, thank you for your help
