Yay! There's your business case for FPV!
Here's the maiden flight of Simon's Durafly Spitfire from Hobby King. Flown by Darren, who finished off with some excellent advice. Congrats, Simon!

Skyfun Funjet 6s Setup

I don't like leaving things unfinished especially when my first maiden was not what i expected and truly believe that the reason the hand launch was not successful was i did not give it enough throttle and my throw was more level than up on an angle.
As Darren mention it would be easier to bungee launch this setup as there is some considerable weight in the setup, And will install a bungee hook but look below theres some torque involved in Take off.
A short clip of First attempt to remaiden, I did several Others but camera glasses were flat (Forgot To charge from holidays)

Nice one you have there mate.
I think that the bungee launch will be your best bet
otherwise you will be working very hard each time you hand launch.

Isn't that awesome I couldn't believe it when i saw it i think it's the fastest craft I've seen of anything except maybe the slope soarer , sometimes the turbines sound great but go crap but not this one , absolutely love it but big money..
That does it for me..............Frown
There were times when that bloke would not have been able to hear it never mind see it
and he still could fly like that.
At one point in the video I thought it must have been lost as it was out of sight for so long.
Wonder just how fast that thing was flying. Awesome....
Given me goose bumps...
I just want one of his recievers... they obviously have over the bloody horizon technology.....
What a wizzard bit o kit... I want one
(would need to be a lot bigger though... so you can focus on it when it is 2 kilometers away)
Very very impressive, how many watts would that convert to????

Like Paul I thought it was lost, pity about the camera work, imagine with good video footage, what it would look like?
Its always funny when some clown puts a P160 on an airframe meant for for a P80 Biggrin

$3800 worth of Turbine, probably another $2000 in the airframe!!

Everyone needs 16kg of thrust Wink
clown! some might say genius! Smile i think hes just ahead of his time! Smile
Was just wondering how much that engine cost the guy!!!!!!!!

One consolation though......we're not the only ones to contend with high tension wires.
There is Some Crazy people Out There Pushing The limits Tounge

WOW! SCARY! That could have seriously hurt somebody.. luck man.. It sounded like a ninja star from a B grade movie being flung..
So .. as you were repeating what I was thinking on the Video,, ".. Holy Snapping Dooley,, how did that happen, what went wrong" haha .. I ask..
What did cause it to go wrong? How did the Bolt part fail, was something loose connecting to it, was it not tight or was it just plain faulty?
I am working on my tail assembly lately and that Vid has put the scare in me..
Gday Rob, I hope it doesn't give you nightmares now. Smile
The bolt itself failed. The tail section was a HobbyKing metal tail upgrade (Downgrade IMHO). I have reverted to the plastic tail case and blade grips from Align. (Plastic is good enough for 500's and up as there is enough plastic to give them strength.) The bolt was probably just a dud, regardless of the rest of the tail.

Cya Sat AM.....I think. (Depends on Mrs)
See Andrew
Thats the short and tall of it.
You replaced Align equipment with HK.
Seriously though.
The best thing to come out of a situation like that is that you were spooling up for a flight and not 40ft in the air.... now that would have been a catastrophy.
Too true Garry. Were you impressed with my language control though? Smile
Yes mate
Big smiley face for you.... I assumed the kids must have been present.
If that had been me there would have been a long constant
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP !
to hide the expletives.
See you Sunday.
Maybe we can get our heads together and get this T REX of mine hovering properly.
