As Kev had his birthday today and had the day off work
he and I decided to do a bit of flying and work on his T28 and spruce goose.
We went down to the field around 10am with my Cessna which had a new apc 10 x 7 prop.

Kev gave her a try first to compare how she flew today as against how she flew last Sat.
He immediately noticed a bit difference in performance compared to the stock prop( no name 9 x 5).
I then proceeded to undertake my first complete sole flight including take off and landing.
I was "Over the Moon" with delight not only in doing the solo but also in how she performed. Smile

We then proceed to take turns at flying her and kev found himself over on the far side of the creek almost in a line
with the water tower when we spotted something fall from the cessna.
The object gently fluttered to the ground and I immediately suspected that the battery hatch had fall off.

Kev was concerned that maybe the battery itself had or would drop out so he decided to bring her around
to check her out. Due to the gentle nature of the falling object I was confident that he had nothing to worry about
and told him so.
As he flew parallel down the runway just above head high we suddenly noticed what was missing. Shock

The 10 x 7 prop and prop adapter had come off and he now found himself with less than a third of the runway left
and no power to climb or go around. Redface

He did an amazing job in bringing her down in the long grass alongside the runway without a scratch.
Needless to say after searching for the prop for about 30 minutes we gave up and came home.

Nice work mate!!
I wonder how many bits and pieces are scattered around the field? Probably enough to construct an aircraft methinks.

Cheers

Lol yeah we tried the cessna with a 0 x 0 master airscrew

she lacked power for mine.. Lol
Now you see why its good to get used to "severely" underpowered planes Wink
The electrafun was originally severely underpowered and we all known how that
flew Icon_evil
