Hey all i just thought i'd post up this site based on afew conversations i had at the field with kev.b and steve.m. i was over at my next door neighbours an hour ago when he came home pissed and started hurling rocks at my garage window when he saw the light on working on my funjet.. Biggrin

anyway he is a sign guy who has his own router cad table thingy and jumped on this site..
http://www.turbosquid.com/

and pulled up a cad file for a chipmunk and basically sent it through to his machine ready to cut out of this special dense foam stuff(i have sample to show you guys the material to see what we think about flight potential).. anyways ill show you down at field but check it out kev for the sort of cad files you were talking about the other week, just type planes into search field of that site and you will see.. anyways im going to be hungover if i dont go to bed i gotta get up early.. will explore this more when my neightbour and myslef are more sober Biggrin
That sounds really awesome. Wonder how much he'd charge us to cut out some planes? There are a bunch of sites on the internet for free rc plane planes. Here are some that found:

http://plans.am.free.fr
http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/ ... plans.html
http://plans.rcmodell.hu
http://www.spadtothebone.com
http://www.tdmsoftware.com/majewski/rcs ... quest.html
http://plans.aerofred.com

There are tons more sites as well.

hey mick ill check out those sites when i get home, things to remember tho, he needs full 3d cad files for his machine.
basically the file tells the machine the entire shape of plane (every curve etc) and the arm swivels around cutting and shaping on a 360 degree head with different sized attachments and what not , so 2d plans will not work for him. you start with blocks of foam and the machine cuts away everything in the block thats not part of the plane shape.
he can use afew different file types but the ones i can remember were 3ds and lightwave files i think.. i need to go have another chat with him at a normal hour of the day. Smile
I know a little about these things. If you can find out exactly what the file format is I may be able to find a way to make/convert/write what he needs.
Mick
he used this file to set up ready for the machine although he made some changes..
