Mike Close reckons that the new SRCS field is worth driving to. I'm thinking about heading out there for a look-see and a fly ...

If anyone is interested, then let's organise going as a "PRCAC mob" and we can enjoy some agoraphobia and have a bit of fun!

Crikey.....I'll be takeing a cut lunch for a trip like that!! Smile
I'm quite keen to have a look at the tiger moth and steerman that will be on display.
Lets hope that the weather's good Smile
You can count me as a starter.
If the weather is nice it should be a good day.
Ive heard that it is a very nice field.
Maybe we can all meet at the Wisemans ferry pub just before the ferry and arrive as a group. (out of control hord)
Looks like some Fun and great day out especially with all welcome beginners, experts, can imagine some great carnage to debut.

Steve
Count me in too..... how many planes do I bring...hmmmmm. ... I'll start loading the car now.Biggrin
I hope you are going to bring the C 17 George, I have been thinking about buying one so it would be nice to check over yours. That will help me make a decision.

I would love to bring her, but she's not an easy flyer, has a glitch in one of the motors (caused my first crash) and needs super short grass and a long runway but what the hell, I'll bring it. Area 51 would be excellent next time.
I bought mine from the first batch and it was EPS back then now they are made out of EPO from the Same company that makes the A380 airliner.

Good idea Vice!
I hope your DW will be airworthy again by then - I've still not seen it flying and it would be well-suited to the space available out there.
It really doesn't need that much space Steve.
Landing roll is shorter than my PC-9
But now you have asked I will make an effort and carry out said upgrade.
The only difficult thing is finding a replacement 13 x 8" APC counter rotating prop, it broke during the rushed dead stick landing.
Model flight is out of stock, so I won't be counting on them, could be a month or more.
I ordered and paid for a new conopy for my Seb Art Sukhoi 50 over 3 months ago.
Still waiting !!!!
Sounds like fun, I might be in... hopefully.....
OK Gazz - I wasn't aware of the prop problem, bit of a bugger.
Oh well, the PC-9 will eat up the space nicely instead then Smile

Good plan. I'd been hoping to make it out there - my brother is up that weekend, we're on parenting duties, and I was planning on heading out there with the kids if he's keen... which I guess makes me a tentative "yes" for joining the PRCAC mob.
The weather forecasts are looking predictably bad for the rest of the week, and for the weekend (surprise, surprise).

At the moment, the SRCS site hasn't changed and the inference is that the weekend festivities are still planned to go ahead - however, I'd suggest we keep a close eye on their web-site for updates. If it gets cancelled, then we don't want to drive all the way out there to learn about it.

I am still planning on heading out there tomorrow if the weather looks promissing.
But will not make a desicion until early in the morning.
If the weather is crapy I will be flying at A51.
Will post tomorow morning nice and early before I head off.
If all goes well hope to see a few of you guys up there.
Gazz
WIlly is talking up the weather for tomorrow and although I probably won't be flying anything, I still think a drive up there to have a look will be worth while. I'm particularly keen to see some of the gassers go through their paces again.

I will be heading up too. The weather doesn't look too bad. Will check your post in the morning.
Was a "tentative yes", but looks like I won't be able to swing this tomorrow - might squeeze in an early visit to Area 51 if open.

Hope you guys have a good day out!
Same as Claudio, quite pissed at the moment, might duck into area 51 just to say hello(haven't seen the place yet) , learnt last christmas what hang over flying will eventuate to..... sad days indeed......
Its 6.30 Saturday morning, there is high cloud but athe forcast looks ok so I am heading up to the mission, hope to see a few of you guys up there.

See you at wisemans ferry.
What an awesome display of unbelievable RC planes, was the most entertaining day I have had for a long time.
One jet overshadowed all others with it's 400 kph + passes & super G turns. I know Gary was impressed because of his resounding exclamation "I gotta have one". Gaz, I am sure that you recall the make of this beast and posting details here will give all who missed out on the display, an opportunity to view it (including details for me to show my friends/family what I have been talking madly about.
