just wondering if any of you guys have expereince with float planes at all? I'm considering the Great Planes Catalina , would also be my first twin.

Might be a novel idea to try a float plane when the field next turns into a lake!

Very Nice looking plane and appears to well designed for water takeoff and landing.
I would be worried i would have to swim after it because of a mishap take off or landing.

Top looking aircraft, will be a nice addition to the PRCAC fleet if you decide to purchase.
I have often toyed with getting floats for my uber cub and heading off to a lake with Mr Pellicano to menace his yachts. Only problem is the floats are quite expensive. Also, like Steve, I envisage a few swims and some soaked ESC's etc.
