What you just experienced was what was happening to our
F16,F14 and vector, not enough airspeed to provide the control surfaces some authority.
The use of the bungee showed this to be correct.
Darren, Kev and myself decided long ago that the only correct thing to do
is install a bungee hook and be done with.
Moving the battery back will help a bit but still may not be enough.
Yes there are some successful hand launches on You Tube but I bet there are heaps
of crashes that don't get shown.
