After last week's cartwheels, I needed a bit of a nose job. The fuse had split down the side and the nose was a bit too wobbly Smile.

I've moved the motor further forward but, unfortunately, it doesn't make a lot of difference to the weight I need to add to get it balanced.

Still, I'm keen to find some fair weather to try it out. If the weather is foul, I might even get a chance to put some covering back on the nose.

Gday Steve..

Depending upon how rambunctious my daughter is we may come down and say gday, also please note the weather for today, you may want to try for earlier rather than later.

I have found a new report that is a bit easier to read for non pilots as the TAF is largely "decoded". Let me know if this is a preferred format.

Hi all,
If the weather stays as it is, grey skies & not too much wind, Ingo & I are going to head down to the field for an hour or so from 6-00pm this evening.
Come and join us if your interested.

Chris M

Hi Guys,

Chris & I went down & flew for about an hour.

Our friend on the motor bike has returned - hence doughnuts and slides on the main runway, luckly the ground has dried up after mowing, the tracks are not too deep.

The council has chopped the grass & after asking it to be left longer approx a couple of metres around runways all been chopped except on the swamp side.

It is hard to distinguish the runway & pit area as it has been cut really short - only saving grass or (grace) is the runway is a darker green.

THought I would let you know - see you in the weekend.

Hi All

just a quick note, Planning to go down Tomorrow Afternoon for a quick Fly weather and work permitting.
Keen to test Plane with brake enable setting and see how it goes.
Will post prior to heading down if any one is keen and can come down.
Hoping earlier rather than later approx 3pm, I think Ingo may be going down as per usual later time but I'm sure he will
post and let any one keen to go down know.

Hi Guys,

If the weather is fine I shall go down to the field this arvo around 6.00pm.

Rebuilt my old glider & Electrafun XP - keen to see if they fly with all the mods.

Chris may venture down also - again depending on the weather.

Let you know for sure later this arvo

Chris & Ingo,

If you see each other this afternoon, Chris can pass the plane and the HobbyKing order to Ingo assuming Ingo will be down the field on Saturday morning as well. Let's try if this works.

Regards,
Colin

Col,

Chris is not going flying this arvo as he has no batteries charged.

I also have decided not to go as the wind has picked up quite a bit over the last few hours.

You will have to wait till Sunday to retrieve your plane & parts.

I have the rare opportunity of a day off with no kids on Friday.

I know it's a bit far ahead to plan, but I'd be keen if anyone is thinking about going flying on Friday between schoold runs Smile (after 9:30am and before 2:00pm).

Wow Friday is tomorrow already!!!
Is anyone contemplating visiting the field tomorrow? I'm keen. I've got a fleet of foamies (Trainer, Biplane, F22R3, mini-3DX) that I could try in the local park instead if noone is going to be about. As I have been out of action with flying, I've been doing some tinkering.

Darn! is that rain I hear on the roof?!! Frown

Sorry, can't make it before 2pm.

Looks like great flying weather at the moment, and I did an early shift today so I'm going to head down to the field after I finish my lunch for a few flights. Did the same on Tuesday. Not much notice so I won't expect anyone to join me, but I'll be down there from around 1pm for an hour or so.

Interesting to see your stock panther Colin, if it has same motor as my stock setup Panther
Though The Jetiger is running sweet with 2200ma 4s now. so my edf fix is sorted for the moment and my nPanther hopefully this week i will try to iron out kinks with under power issue as shown on video clip i did viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22&p=1846#p1844 Wink

Steve,

Do you know what time in the afternoon you will be down the field tomorrow (Friday)?

Colin

Gday all

Colin, Sorry i cannot give you a time as i am not sure what time i will get home as the kids want to go to the beach tomorrow if the weather is like it was Today.
So i will miss morning Flying, but I can post if i do get back earlier enough for flying in the afternoon., Otherwise it appears there will be others down in the morning if you can make morning flying, Else i will be flying over the Easter break a lot and can let you Know.

P.s Colin The Panther is a really good easy flying plane and the stock motor should be fine that you have in it but you must have at least 30c 2200ma 3s lipo as it draws 38 amps max as originally i used a 20c lipo that i had and it was no good.
I have reverted back to stock motor on panther as seen in my latest clip and it flys great and fast.

But is very very tricky to hand launch as there no real gripping spot on underside to help with launching smoothly.
So i have used some sponge rings for finger grip holes and makes it a lot easier, as shown in Todays Panther clip i Did.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22&p=1879#p1879

More than happy to help you with maidening the Panther when we catch up.
