Gday Kev

The cub incident was a f#$kup not a mishap, oddly enough I did exactly what I was afraid of doing, over-rotating and not being positive enough with the rudder after I just got a wheel in the longer grass.
Having said that, some glue, some covering and some VB will see her right again lickety split. If it wasn't so freakin hot the last few days she would be done already. I have also run out of VB, I am going to rectify this right now!!!!!!

Cheers

Anyone got plans to go flying this week? I'll b able to get down from around midday this week.

Hi, not feeling so well. So, will give it a miss today.

Was actually heading to Winston Hills shops after dinner so I stopped at the field at 7:30pm for a quick flight or 2 before it got dark. Ingo & Steve had already left - the gates were locked - so I started to walk in with gear in hand. A sign of the times or maybe I'm just paranoid - but there was a group of around 5 or 6 young guys hanging around in the concrete channel thing as you walk in (that gets graffitied sometimes) and I immediately felt vulnerable as far as being out in the middle of an isolated field with no one else around. I decided to turn around and head to the shops instead - annoying when I was already there and looking forward to a flight. Maybe being overly cautious - I'm OK with being there first thing in the morning alone - just make sure I keep my fingers away from spinning props & have my mobile on hand.

Hi John,

Steve left about 6.00pm I stayed till 6.45. Ther was nobody there whern I left & locked up.

I can see you point about being by yourself it is a bit of a nervous feeling.

Having said that I had no idea anybody else was coming down.

Not having taken a charger to the field I exhasted all my batteries because all I was doing was taking & landing.

Maybe we should consider on the private members area having all phone & email contacts listed for all members?

This will ensure anybody can be contacted & reached if required for flying, info etc...

I contacted a few members but they a prior arrangements, maybe above could solve the problem to contact members?

Gday All

In regards to the "graffiti crew", as you may know I have to walk through there with my planes to get to the field.
I have found them to be either completely disinterested or very friendly, I have heard many good comments about how cool they think us flying is. They always ask about how fast our planes fly and when I mention Steve's 200kmh effort they are blown away!!!
No guarantee though however my experiences have been OK!!!!

Cheers
Rob B

Hi Rob,
I'm sure you're right - most people are good. I guess you hear so many negative stories about gangs and violence & such that you can feel nervous in some situations.
Ingo - being able to contact each other is handy - I do have your mobile - last night was just a last minute decision to pop down to the field - wasn't really expecting you guys to still be there - obviously, don't feel any obligation to to hang around if I haven't let you know I'm coming & I thought it was a bit late anyway. Didn't consider the Safety/security aspect until I was walking in and heard several voices from below. ( Now I am sounding paranoid!)
Anyway maybe see you guys tomorrow.

The weather's pretty windy here at Silverwater too (work). I'm hoping it'll die down by the time I get home at 4:30pm. I did have tomorrow free as well but turns out I've got an appointment at around 5:30pm. Hopefully it'll be quick and I might get to the field by 6:30 or so. Don't wait for me if I'm late. I'll have to play it by ear and I might see you if things work out.

John/Ingo,
I think I'm good to join you tomorrow afternoon from about 5-30pm if it is not too windy.

Hope to see you there Chris/Ingo.
Chris, how did your air to air Video go?
I'd be interested to see footage of my Lark cruising around from an aerial perspective, if you managed to capture some glimpses.

I am hoping to join you this afternoon around 5:45 if I can manage.

Won't make it myself, but just looking at the weather here in Winston Hills
at 3:40pm. Not a cloud in the sky and my big gum tree across the road is bearly moving.
Looks like you are going to have a great evening's flying guys. Biggrin

It is in deed quite windy in where I live. I am puzzling.

A bit of wind around Baulkham Hills.
Just about to pop off to a doctor's appointment at 5:45 or so.
Hopefully down at field 6:30 or so. Could be later though (you know how doctors can keep you waiting).
Don't wait for me if you need to close the gates. I'll take my chances.
