You should change the way paypal emails you.
I think you may be making life unnecessarily difficult for your self there Mate.
Worlds best practice might be to get a visa debit card and top it up a little bit at a time in advance then link a new Paypal account to that using a new Gmail address to send the correspondence to.
You might also consider using incognito mode in your web browser for searching for such items and accessing your gmail. This avoids you filling up memory with the useless details of all the sites you've searched.
I'm sure your missus wouldn't want to burden you with all the details of the purchases she makes. I know mine never does.
