Sorry mate - gotta leave in a few minutes for a day-trip up the coast.
Hope you get a few circuits in though!

Steve Murray

Did you get a rake onto the runway in the end Gazz?

Steve Murray

We certainly did Steve. We had a good turn out today and Wayne bought 3 rakes with him.
The field was not great for big aircraft but was ok for smaller ones.

Cheers Gazz - glad to hear that you were operating anyway.
All we need is to have little or no rain during the week and things would be looking good for next weekend - mind you, it might even need another mow by then at the rate it's growing!

Steve Murray

Based on the field condition thread, I will open up Area 51 around 8.15am. I am also planning to fly Sunday as well so for the Sunday fliers, Area 51 will be open as well.

Dave

Just an update for Area 51...

I will unlock the gates and replace the BHSNA lock with the PRCAC lock around 8.00am (guesstimate). For the keen fliers, please go for it. I will go back home after putting the club lock on and be back at Area 51 around 9.45-10.00am.

What a shocker ... this definitely means McCoy is out of action for another couple of weekends!

Steve Murray

I figure, it makes it worth planning around A51 for Christmas.

I guess someone needs to say something, i Guess its obvious that Mc Coy Field is out for this weekend, next weekend and the weekend after.

So Flying will be limited to Area 51 if it isn't raining of course.
As for Tommorow who knows with this weather, i guess we have to wait and see.

I have the combination lock for A51. If the weather is boarder line ring me or post if you need the field open.
If the weather is fair I will be flying at A51, but if its like it has been forget it.

Well, it's now 1:30am and it's p!ssing down again ... just for a change!
Is there an end to this outrage?...

Steve Murray

3:40am and still raining Wink

You guessed it, 7.45 am and it is still pissing down.
The radar shows it raining from Melbourne through to Brisbane.
The only good thing is that they say it will stop this afternoon and that the forecast for tomorrow is cloudy but no rain, keep those fingers crossed.

G'day Gazz

Yep the weather is diabolical, I am in town and cannot see the tops of most of the high rise buildings.

Cheers

Hi Guys,
Given the weather we have had the last week and I am busy tomorrow, I'm thinking of going to PEMAC later this afternoon - I'm desperate!
The forecast is for the rain to clear and given the drainage out at the PEMAC field I am hoping that it is usable, plus I have been keen to see the improvements that they have done.

If anyone is interested in joining me I was thinking of heading out at about 4pm so I would be at the gates around 4-30pm and stay till 6-00/6-30.
Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers
Chris M

Hi Chris i'm Keen but i think it would be quite boggy out there too, access to field could be bad as well.

True, but I'm still keen to give it a go.
The causeway is the only concern I have.

See you there bright and early

I ended up venturing out to PEMAC despite the wind.
When I got to the field I was surprised to see the lake that they had a the eastern end of the strip, it was a good 10m in diameter and 100mm deep. There were also a number smaller swampy areas scattered over the strip as well. It seems that we are not the only ones struggling with the weather.

Anyhow I had several flights in the breeze that would not die down and managed to miss the puddles when landing so it wasn't a completely wasted trip. It was encouraging to see the improvements that PEMAC has done to their field - well done to them.

I can't make it tomorrow to Area 51 so have a good time and I hope the winds are favourable.

Chris M

Hi Guys, Just a Quick update

There are three guys out at Area 51 at the moment.
It is Windy They say, approx 15-20 km winds gusting at times they say.
But Its Blue Sky Biggrin

P.s
One person at the Field said its still and Calm, But Don't Believe Him Icon_twisted

For Me i like a challenge so i may pop in for a bit, will see.

Ok so its the weekend again and the weather is ?

And where is everyone going Tommorow,

Area 51 ?
Pemac Swap meet ?
Pub ?
Pub Crawl ?

Steve

What Do You Mean Theres a Throttle Curve ?, Its Either all the way up or all the way down Tongue_smile

Area 51 is my own preference. I want to give this Trojan another test run or two with the 4S nano you gave me. It recovered ok and as long as I don't fly for more than three minutes at moderate/high throttle it won't puff. Area 51 would be low traffic.

If I were to go to PEMAC, which would be fun, I wouldn't get the flying time in. Saturdays are busy they tell me. And then it's swap meet day (busier). I'm not looking for any more planes.
