Do you mean like a slot cut through the wing through which the prop rotates?

I have seen a couple of delta's made like that. I don't see why it couldn't be done to one of these wings. Other than protection for the prop Is there any other advantage? Obviously you don't want the motor on the front as combat planes tend to land nose in first, a lot.

I've never flown powered combat but I did fly a few seasons of slope combat on the northern beaches a few years back, the models survive crash after hard landing after crash and just keep on going. Be warned it's highly addictive !!
