This is after a crash , so it is not conclusive evidence . but the UBEC IS BURNT OUT !!!
I HAVE TESTED THE EDF AND RX WITH ANOTHER SPEEDIEE , ALL THESE PARTS WERENT PHYSICALLY DAMAGED IN THE CRASH AND WORK FINE , HOWEVER THE ESC AND UBEC HAVE BURNT OUT .
THIS MAY HAVE HAPPENED AFTER THE CRASH !!!! IT DID NOT APPEAR TO HAVE LOST SIGNAL ON ITS WAY DOWN . HOWEVER . THERE IS EVIDENCE TO SUGGEST SOMETHING WENT WRONG BESIDES C OF G !!!!

IS ANYONE ELSE RUNNING COMPLETE STOCK SETUP ON THE 8S VIPER ?
NOW BEING AN 8S . IF ONE IS TO NOT USE THE STOCK SETUP . THEN TO GET A HV 80 AMP + SPEEDIE SAY 100AMP 5-12 S , YOUR LOOKING AT $100 EXTRA DOLLARS + IN ANYONES LANGUAGE TO SAFELY FLY THE TAFT VIPER . + A SEPERATE BEC !!!!!
MY advice could be skewed since I lost my plane . however I would buy the plane without fan and ESC . THEN I WOULD ADD THE TAFT EDF AS A SEPERATE BUY , AND FIT YOUR OWN ESC BEC 100AMP + THAT IS MY GUT FEEL . MOST HERE ARENT RUNNING THE ESC INCLUDED IN THE PNF VERSION . I WOULD ALSO DO THIS WITH THE 6S VERSION , AS RUNNING NEAR THE MAX CURRENT IS SOMETHING US ELECTRIC FLYERS DONT DO IN THE REAL WORLD .
THE PLANE IS A BEAUTY AND I WILL MISS IT DEARLY . I MAY BUY ANOTHER . THE BUILD QUALITY IS EXCELLENT FROM FACTORY BUT NEEDS A LITTLE IMPROVEMENT FOR LONGEVITY . IN HINGES . THE MOTOR FAN ARE BRILLIENT . THE RETRACTS ARE GOOD , BUT THE ESC IS A LET DOWN
My understanding from reading the RC CASTLE site is that the Viper that comes in this color is only a 6s aircraft.
The V4 model (yellow only) is 6 or 8 cell and comes with a 120 amp ESC. Hence the burnt out ESC.
