Gday KV
Blackhawk? You're joking right? From the scale of the wall it is leaning against + the people standing around it I would say that it is not more than 4 or 5m long, has very short high rpm main rotor blades and is a unmanned drone of some description. Looking at the design and the size I speculate that this puppy is small enough to be spun up and launched off the ramp of a Combat Talon C130 and is controlled remotely. Looking again at the main rotor design I would hypothesize that it does not have a high degree of hover capability hence the "wings" and also large horizontal stabilisers around the tail area. That theory would also tie in with the very early reports that stated it crashed because it "stalled".
To be honest I feel quite "blessed" that I have been able to see a very specialised and highly unique machine that has never been seen before. I am sure that this design was not intended to be seen by joe public. Interestingly the very first photos of this that came out had the aircraft largely concealed by a temp fence made of cloth or something, all you could see was the top of the tail.
Stay tuned on this one.
Cheers
