TAF SUMMARY:
A HIGH IN THE TASMAN SEA IS DIRECTING A NORTHERLY FLOW OVER SYDNEY,
WHILST A LOW PRESSURE TROUGH LIES OVER INLAND NSW. WINDS AT THE
AIRPORT WILL BE LIGHT NORTHWEST AT FIRST, TENDING NORTHEAST LATER IN
THE MORNING. THE LOW PRESSURE TROUGH WILL REACH THE NSW SOUTH COAST
TODAY, AND WILL MOVE NORTH, BRINGING A FRESH SOUTHERLY CHANGE TO THE
AIRPORT TOWARDS EVENING. SOME THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP
ALONG THE RANGE TO THE WEST THIS AFTERNOON, AND THERE IS THE CHANCE
OF A FEW REACHING THE COAST.
THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL:
CHANCE WITHIN 20NM OF SYDNEY AIRPORT THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING,
MOSTLY IN THE WEST.
OTHER POSSIBILITIES:
20% CHANCE WIND WILL SHIFT TO THE E/SE A FEW HOURS BEFORE THE
SOUTHERLY ARRIVES.
30% CHANCE S'LY CHANGE WILL HAVE WIND GUSTS TO 30 KNOTS INITIALLY.
20% CHANCE OF WIND GUSTS GREATER THAN 20 KNOTS AFTER 12Z.
30% CHANCE OF A SHOWER OR TWO TOMORROW MORNING.
