hmm damn, you did achieve one of your goals tho it kinda does look like its stolen now ...
what a devastating weekend for planes..
perhaps it follows a period of bad weather.. maybe we dont fly as often as normal during the bad weather and then it comes good we all get down there and well .. you know what i mean..

Bad luck Rob.
I actually missed the "event" as I had just finished a flight and was walking back to
the pits and had my back to you.
Hope it all goes back together easy for you.

Good Luck with your repairs Rob - and I was feeling a little sad about my little mishap with the bushes on my baseleg. Wasn't a good weekend for gliders - and others by the sound of it (wasn't down at the field today). I don't think I'll bother repairing my glider. I think the structure is still OK and I'm sure it's going to get a few more dings while I'm gaining experience. Thanks for your flying tips - (avoid tight turns down low without ample elevator and/or power else you go from gliding to free falling!)

Those damn power lines, they lay dorment for a such a long time then suddenly they wake up and feed on what ever is nearby.
I know the feeling Rob my A10 was lunch once.

P.s On a lighter note you made it into the Airplane Challenges Hall of Fame

Hi Rob
Two repairs going on here from last Saturday.
The ARM had a U/C mount give way from a crash and repair done last year.
The Katana didn't pull out of a spin quick enough. Pilot error !!.

Gday All
Seems that there was a few hits over the weekend, hope we all get our aircraft back in the air OK? I must say I am a bit surprised that amongst all the carnage I have not seen Kieran's name mentioned/ involved/ implied/ blamed at all.
Kev -I think climbing the towers should be adequate for "acceptance" purposes however there is, as always, no substitute for the real deal.
Needless to say I have been feeling oh so blessed each night as I reassemble the wing jigsaw puzzle.
To punish myself for my error I took my wifes advice re colour scheme, prepare to see the glider back in Pink and Black as soon as the next Hobby King group order gets processed and delivered. Which will hopefully be very soon as the Aussie $ is very strong right now! ops:
Cheers

Rob,
You are aware that Kieran did manage to have an 'incident" on the weekend?
Seems he tried to fly his T28 inverted without the use of a battery.
Pretty good feat if you can achieve it, but unfortunately it wasn't to be and
he is now minus 1 battery.
In the process he managed to dislodge his cockpit and needed the assistance of
Steve and his ladder to retrieve it from a nearby roof.

... and to make matters worse, after the "Black Weekend", the conditions at the field right now are unbelievably perfect! Just the faintest breeze noticeable through the trees every now and again, temperature mild, visibility perfect .... just got nothing to fly, bugger it all.

Hey!!! You forgot:
John J X 1 Glider.
Admittedly it's just a dent in the leading edge of the wing & the plane's probably still airworthy.
But it made a distinct & loud thud as it unexpectedly fell down from baseleg into the bushes (and into a branch).

Holy crap, what a killer weekend!!!
Nice work from Kieran, always creatively raising the bar!, or is that lowering?
I vote John's glider for the BEST SOUNDING CRASH, it sounded bloody awesome crunching its way through the foliage, especially when he left the prop briefly running to bash up the tree a bit more for its audacity to intervene on finals. Love your work mate!!!
Cheers

Oh the Carnage of Planes last weekend.
Well i have been lucky to have the chance this week Mon,Tue and Today to get my Funjet up for a couple of quick flights at the field before driving home from work as have been working nearby.
Well the Weather has been good till Today as i got down at 5pm and had couple of flights, the wind picked up gusting around.
Hoping for good weather tomorrow afternoon for all.
A quick note If any one is thinking of buying the wireless remote battery monitor,
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...oduct=7216
I would not Recommend as it range is very limited in the air from the test i did on Tuesday out at the field , it kept beeping when it was out of range which i felt was pretty poor in the open area.
(May need Steve's tweaking and modding to get it to work better, thats if i can, Thinking of longer TX Rx antennas ?)
Will give it another go on Thursday.

Hi all
Mick if you want to fly during the week, We do try to get together Thursday afternoons.
I would keep an eye out on this thread as like me and others we will try to post here before they go down to fly either in the morning or afternoon. Or sms club members to see if anyone is interested and have free time as sometimes i finish work early or i start late.
